This page shows the players who according to my records have made the most over-the-boundary hits (including 6s) in their first-class career. The figures shown are the minimum number a player is believed to have hit. Further research will alter the tally listed in many cases.

MOST OVER-THE-BOUNDARY HITS IN CAREER
1864-1909
(minimum)

Research for this section is still at a relatively early stage and will take some years to complete.I wouldn't be surprised for example, to find Jessop's figure reach 400. I state that with some certainty because he is known to have hit at least 65 sixes 1910-1914, plus the 278 over-the-boundary hits up to 1909 which gives an overall figure of 343 at least. And there is still a vast amount of research to conduct on his pre-1910 career!

Note: when I believe near complete or final figures are available for a player I'll put an * next to his tally, otherwise treat them as progress figures only.
