screaming its temptations like sirens to sailors 





















it infiltrates and settles in me 
so fully so completely at a cellular level 
it has saturated me
i am helpless as it lifts me up and carries me along at the mercy of its ancient current



















my body is a lode stone and my spirit wears it reluctantly



















regretting its ineptness to move along fast enough furious with my mind because it can't clear my way 























to tie up the loose ends 
of my life
and free me
if only temporarily



























from responsibilities that hold me earthbound
