Let's Talk About Gumay

            Okay, firstly maybe you ever heard about Gumay or haven’t until now. Okay, now I will tell you about Gumay. As I am one of Gumay people, I really love to tell you about this.

Gumay actually name of clan also name of place in South Sumatera, Indonesia. In fact, Gumay is name of clan in the first time. Then the ancestors name the place that they live as same as their name also, Gumay.

                If you haven’t know, there are three different Gumay in South Sumatera.

1. 1.       Gumay Lembak, located in sub-district Pulau Pinang. Exactly in Lubuk Sepang. This is the first Sub-Gumay name in the world and resulted offspring until now.

2. 2.       Then Gumay Ulu, located in sub-district Pulau Pinang. Exactly in Tinggi Hari. This is the spreading of Gumay Lembak. This was established by Puyang Yal Binguk.

3. 3.       Last Gumay Talang, located in sub-district Kota Lahat, exactly in Langu-Endikat.

From three above, I am one of Gumay Talang. Even I am Gumay people, until I write this, I haven’t gone to there. But, whatever there are three Gumay type in the world. Gumay is still one and no one say that we are different.

I hope other Gumays will share about Gumay also. And be proud if you have your name has Gumay as the last name. It’s our identity.
