Saddly I had to turn my memorial page, from one to two pages. It always breaks my heart to lose another member of my family, but yet beneath the tears and the heartache, it makes me feel good to know that I've done my best, and was able to give them the loving home they deserved, and never had by their former owners. They may now be gone , but they will continue to live forever in my heart. |

He schooled in Dressage and got a blue ribbon and a second, then he got a corneal ulcer to his right eye and went blind so that ended his Dressage carrier.Ali died from diaphragmatic hernia that strangulated. |

LUKE JANUARY 20/2002 I called my vet to have him put down but she couldn't come out and all the other vets were on emergencies. She said as long as he was not thrashing in pain to just stay with him. I sang him songs and talked about all the wonderful trail rides we had in the past. I told him he would soon see Shiloh, Siolia and Ali and he would be at Rainbow bridge and he would be young and have all his teeth again. I promised him I would oneday see him again. He started to walk around the arena and I was afraid he would fall into the rails so I kept him in circles until he finally layed down. He was such a fighter. When he finally layed down I was kissing him on his cheek and he was breathing fainter and fainter until he took a big sigh and he was gone.
Of all my horses I think he was the most special. Even my friends weeped cause they thought he was so unique too. We would sit at the patio table and old Luke would come up and put his head on our shoulder and just stand there listening to all our conversations. He would also follow me twice a day when I was pushing the feed cart and would always pull off a flake or two and be a little nusience. He was such a brat. |

NERD GOOF MAY 28/2002
I rescued Nerd Goof from the mouth of a dog in 1989. When he took ill he had a fever of 105' so I rushed him to the emergency vet at 2:30 in the morning 5/26. They stabalized him and the next day I picked him up and transfered him to my regular vet. they sent me home with his shots and IV...but as soon as I got him in the house and took him from his carrier he went limp in my arms. I was hysterical and started mouth to mouth respiration and heart massage for at least 15 minutes but I couldn't revive him.
