Within the Realm of a Dying Sun
1987
Anywhere Out of the World: a prose poem by Charles Baudelaire.

Windfall
: something blown down by wind, or a stroke of good luck.

In the Wake of Adversity

Xavier
: 16th century Jesuit missionary to India, Japan, etc.

Dawn of the Iconoclast
: an iconoclast is someone who challenges accepted beliefs, etc. It delineates roughly from Greek meaning to break images.

Cantara
: in late Renaissance times, cantata meant something simply sung; cantare was the Italian spelling. I would imagine cantara falls in this line.

Summoning of the Muse
: in Greece, the Muses were the goddesses who presided over the arts. One would summon one to write, compose, etc. (see the opening of Odyssey).

Persephone (the gathering of flowers)
: the daughter of Demeter who was kidnapped and taken to the underworld. The parenthetical part could refer to her wandering off transfixed by the narcissus flower, which allows her to be abducted.
