Week 10 Review

I must admit, I'm still recovering from the terrible breakup that I suffered with Ricky. He had no right to call me an idiot, and he wasn't always there for me when I needed him the most. While I can deal with the fact that he's seeing someone right now, I can't stand the way he's been acting towards me lately. For once, all of my friends, whether at CPCC or on MySpace, are supporting me. In fact, one of my MySpace friends said that she's on my side, and she pointed out that Ricky was very wrong for doing what he did. After seven years, we're both beginning to move on from the breakup. Currently, he's in Chicago getting help for his anger management issues, and I'm just trying to finish out the semester at school. Now that my friendship with Ricky has come to a sad and unfortunate end, I'll have to concentrate more on the ones I still have. It's been two months since he first called me an idiot, when I blew off our meeting on my birthday. While he has a right to be angry that it happened, he can learn to control his emotions better. Meanwhile, I've been putting off possible relationships and other get-togethers with the reasoning that studying comes first. I haven't gotten around to taking some time off from my studies, because I know now that I can't go 24 hours a day doing schoolwork. I also have my job at Food Lion, and my Sundays at the movies, but I need a lot more than that to be truly happy. Right now, I'm planning to go back to Maryland for a cousin's wedding, but I'll return to Charlotte on Sunday. And then, I will try to make some new plans with my friends. The question is, what will come from the first get-together? Parties? Dates? I'm also hoping to get my hair done sometime next week. I currently have dreads, but I'm considering braids again. I've worn braids at least twice since I relocated from Baltimore back in 2006. We'll see about that. I have to pack my bags for the trip back, so I must close for now. Check back in next week...
