Week 9 Review
I just got my midterm results back, and I'm maintaining a very high GPA. The worst score I ever got was a 90, but I also got grades of 95 and 100 on my tests, so I'm good to go. The big news for this week is not academic-related, but rather friendship-related: I've been deleted from Ricky's friends list on MySpace, all because of our final blowup yesterday. For a while I was led to believe that he would forgive me for being an idiot, but he really hasn't, and we sent each other angry messages. He also said that everyone hates me, which hurt even more. I asked my fellow students around campus if this was the truth, and they said it wasn't. They told me that they don't hate me, and also that I'm actually more intelligent than he might think, so obviously, Ricky lied to me. As of yesterday, he and I are no longer on speaking terms, and I now realize that he's been trouble ever since the fall semester started back in August. Remember when I broke our plans to celebrate my birthday together? I admit that I was wrong for doing so, but that doesn't give him the right to call me an idiot. After all, people do stupid things all the time. I'm actually a little sad right now, because for seven years, we were mostly very good friends, and we promised each other that it would always stay this way. From the first time we met, riding the subway to work downtown, I thought he would stick with me through the good times and bad. But then, he decided to marry his top female friend on MySpace, and the friendship began to take a turn for the worse. For the last two months, he's done something that he swore he would never do, which is trying to make me feel worthless. But I'm not, so I can't let it get me down. Now that Ricky's gone, I'll try to patch up my remaining friendships back in Charlotte, as the second half of the semester approaches. I must confess, I've never felt crappier than I did in the first half, and my social skills could use some major improvement, but I can make up for it with the time I have left. I still want to go to Atlanta next summer, get invited to parties at my friends' houses, and go out on the weekends. I'm still waiting for my first paycheck from Food Lion. Maybe it'll arrive next Wednesday, since my checks arrive every two weeks, according to my supervisor. I'll have to make new plans for the weekend, as I will have some money to spend on things like dinner and movies. We'll see about that...I'm ready to make some big improvements, starting next week! 2007-10-19 11:45:11 GMT
