DSL is So Cool, and Now I Have It!
Just the other day, I decided to test out the new DSL package I got from BellSouth, aka AT&T. Having DSL gives you so many advantages over dial-up: For one, you can talk on the phone and surf the Internet at the same time, whereas on dial-up, you can only do one thing at a time. And DSL will not disconnect the way dial-up can. Best of all, I can take my online classes at home, thanks to the miracle of DSL. Right now, I have only have one online course on my upcoming fall schedule, as I will attend class two days and two nights a week. I recently visited UNC-Charlotte last week to inquire about their IT program, and I told them that I was considering transferring from CPCC in two years. The bad news is, most of my CPCC credits will not transfer to UNCC, and I may be forced to add at least one more class per semester to build up my transferrable credit status. The good news is, I only need at least 24 credits to transfer, so I will try to get as many transferrable credits as possible. I'm hoping for 40 credits, which means that I would then have 80 out of 120 credits required for graduation when I enter UNCC. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of transferring to UNCC once I graduate from CPCC. And history is definitely on my side, as one of my cousins and my late grandmother once attended UNCC. I'm so intrigued by the prospect of following in their footsteps that I've been inspired to modify my educational plans for the next two years, so that I can get the needed credits for my transfer. But more on that later...I love DSL so much that when I purchase my first house, I will order my own DSL immediately. I think every home should have DSL, so that the inconveniences of dial-up can be avoided. Bottom line: Get DSL, and then you can do whatever you want all the time!
