Just How Special is 7/7/07?
Ah, 7/7/07: The lucky day is finally here. It’s the day that is supposed to bring good luck to anyone who ties the knot or has a new arrival from the stork. That’s why on this day churches, chapels and hospitals are having their busiest time ever. I read an online story that reveals that the wedding chapels were booked for 7/7/07 a few years ago, but I expected it to happen. As for the hospitals, I’m sure there are lots of expectant mothers giving birth today. So those people are supposed to see nothing but good luck in their lives, but there’s no guarantee of it actually happening. Everyone goes through a rough patch sometime in their lives, so I have your advance warning here. Which brings us to the unluckiest day of the year, Friday the 13th: It will happen one week from tomorrow. Ironically, the month I graduated from high school (June 1997) had a Friday the 13th, and so did the month I got hit by car while crossing the street (June 2003). I like to believe that those two facts had something to do with my dropping out of college after only one week in 1997, and my firing in 2003. I also lost Sheryl in 2003, but I knew that was going to happen anyway, as I was forbidden to see her ever again, and she did play a major role in my firing. Thus, any feelings I may have had for her have already died, and been replaced by pure hatred for her. While I now wish that I had gotten married today, I’m in no rush to do so. I love being single, and I’m just waiting for the perfect opportunity to pass. I can feel it happening within a few months, but for now, I’m holding off on the marriage talks until the time is right. Like the rest of the world, I get to marvel at the big story of the day, which would be the wedding of Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs. As expected, Eva’s castmates and Tony’s teammates were there, and the ceremony happened in, of all places, Parker’s hometown of Paris, France, where he spent most of his childhood. I don’t know of anyone famous expecting childbirth on this day, but I have a feeling that some of these babies will become superstars one day, but again, don’t count on it. Anyway, I wish the best of luck to all the newborns and newlyweds on this special day (although that would be an overstatement). These people already share one special thing in common: the miraculous date we like to call 7/7/07! 2007-07-08 00:59:28 GMT
