The King of Charlotte
Telling it like it is, live from the Queen City!
It's Not a Camry...It's a Corolla!

When people see my key chain, they notice the Toyota logo on that key chain, and they immediately assume that I drive a Camry. I constantly have to remind them that I drive a Corolla, even though I sometimes wish I had upgraded to Camry. Who knows? Maybe next time I will.

But all kidding aside, it’s rather easy to see why they think so. It’s because the Camry is the best-selling car in America, and it has been every year since 1997 (except for 2001). On the other hand, the Corolla is the best-selling car in history, and it’s no wonder you see a lot of these on the streets and highways. It’s a very popular choice among the younger crowd. On a side note, both cars share their platforms with other models: The Matrix wagon is a spinoff of the Corolla, and the Solara is a coupe version of the Camry (it can also be ordered as a convertible). My aunt owns a red Solara coupe.

So far, ever since I got my Corolla as a Christmas gift, everybody has fallen in love with it. Whether it’s at work or at school, they are just crazy about my car. No matter where I go, it’s the most popular car on the lot. That said, I’m so glad that I got it. The love will continue this summer, when I attend new classes at CPCC. But unfortunately, my A+ certification course has been cancelled again, but at least this time, I have my Plan B already in place: an Associates Degree in Networking Technology. In the meantime, I will try to get a new job this summer, and hopefully it will be at the trucking company.

In closing, I would like to incorporate the slogans of both Toyota and CPCC to describe the journey I’m taking to that Associates’ Degree in Networking Technology:

“I’m ‘Moving Forward’ so I can ‘Get There.’ ”

The journey begins next week, after Memorial Day!
