    Vs Extreme Warrior

SCCW Tuesday Night Titans None

The scene opens to find Spike sitting with SCCW reporter Craig James.  They are inside the empty SCCW arena, sitting in the raised seating, about 10 lines back from the ring.  It seems so empty and hollow.  No-one in the ring, no fans screaming for their favourite wrestlers, no ring technicians in yet either.  Well, it's only Thursday, what did you expect, a parade of ring crew setting up three days early?!  There are a few large posters up around the large room, some for Tuesday Night Titans, the majority for Sunday Night Slam, and some for Lightning Strikes.  Craig turns to Spike and asks him a question.

Craig James: Have you got anything set up for Lightning Strikes yet?

Spike: No, not yet, but it's still a few weeks away, so something will come up, it always does.

Craig James: I guess it does.  Well, what about this week?  You're on Titans this week, against Extreme Warrior.

Spike: I can't help but get a feeling of deja-vu here Craig.

Craig James: I know what you mean.  It seems like you and Extreme Warrior have faced off hundreds of times.

Spike: Well, I think it must be in double figures by now.  And considering that this week will by my 50th match in SCCW, that's a lot.

Craig James: 50 matches?  That's got to be some kind of record.

Spike: In SCCW it is.  No-one else has had that many matches here.

Craig James: I can't believe it's been that many.  I still remember your debut here.

Spike cringes a little at the memory.

Spike: Don't remind me.  It was a disaster.

Craig James: It wasn't that bad.

Spike: Craig, my match was thrown out 'cause Matt Wild interfered.  That was my debut.

Craig James: I suppose, but you made up for it the week after, by beating that guy, oh what was his name..

Spike: The Hitman.

Craig James: That's it.  Then you got going pretty quick after that.  The tag titles first wasn't it?

Spike: Yeah with Y2RR.  Then I got rid of him and the rest is history really.

Craig James: But sometimes history repeats on you.  And sometimes, things you thought were history never really finished, just got paused.  Wolf and Mike Austin for example.

There is a moment of silence and Spike smiles before speaking again.

Spike: I'll give you credit for that one Craig, you dropped that in nicely.

Craig James: Thanks.  But it is a big thing in your career at the moment, so I thought I'd try to get some comments off you.  It's okay if you don't want to talk about it.

Spike: Talk about what.  How my best friend stabbed in the back?  How he joined with someone that I hold in serious contempt?  How they manipulated someone like Kirsta into joining them?  How they continue to attack me and try to end my career?

Craig James: I get the point.

Spike: No Craig, I don't think you do.  This is more than just a rivalry between me and the Mercenaries now.  It runs much deeper than that.  Last week, Kirsta and I had a good match, she lost, that should've been it.  But no, she became the latest person to shake hands with the Devil himself.  Austin and Wolf are taking any chance they can get to screw me over and try to take me out of SCCW for good.  That is why it has become more of a 'feud' if you will than ever before.  They think they will always get one over on me, but their day is coming.  It's coming soon.  The day when they realise that SCCW is not theirs for the taking, and that they will get what is coming to them.

Craig James: I appreciate that that has probably gotten you quite angry just talking about it, but can we move on now, or do you want to call it a day?

Spike: I'm fine Craig, let's get on to the inevitable.  Let's talk about Warrior, again.

Craig James: Saying again would be a bit of an understatement.  You two have faced each other more times than possibly anyone in SCCW history.

Spike: Yeah, we have.  We've had tag matches, singles matches, elimination matches, title matches, too many to even remember in fact.

Craig James: So why is it do you think the SCCW staff have got you booked to face him again?

Spike: It could be any number of reasons.  But I'd say the top answer is that we draw a crowd.  I'm not saying that SCCW staff are doing it just to get asses in the seats, I'm saying that they know what it's like when we face each other.  All hell breaks loose, every time.  Every time, it's the same.  We go back and forth, anyone could win at any moment, there is always tension between us, which will never change, and we never disappoint.

Craig James: Do you think that the animosity towards one another will ever just become something of the past?

Spike: No, never.  Extreme Warrior, is always full of the same old bullshit.  Me and him never see eye to eye, and we never will.  Call it a clash of personalities if you want, but ultimately, we both want similar things, but the things that differ are the things that will stop us from being 'friendly'.

Craig James: What do you mean?

Spike: Well, we both want what every wrestler wants.  To be the top guy.  To win the main title.  To get some recognition for being the best.  But then there are other things.  I want SCCW to thrive.  Even when I'm gone, I want SCCW to be the best.  He couldn't care less.  If SCCW was destroyed by team NWA, he'd go elsewhere and do the same to somewhere else.  He's a selfish, egotistical son of a bitch, and he will never change.

Craig James: We could talk about all your past matches with Warrior in detail, but I'm sure you've had enough of doing that.

Spike: You're damn right I have.  In fact, I've had enough of talking about Extreme Warrior to last ten lifetimes.  It's no surprise to me when people know what to expect from us, because they've seen it all before.  They know that I hate the man, they know he feels the same.  Everyone knows we've beaten each other, blah blah blah.  They've heard it all before, so why would they want to hear it again?  And it's not just talk from me that they've heard before, it's all the same old bullshit that he keeps spewing as well.  He talks about the past, how he always comes out on top, how he thinks I'm full of shit and so on.  Expect in his case, he keeps going and going and going, he's like that damn energizer bunny.  He just likes the sound of his own voice so much that he speaks volumes any chance he can get.  He'll really milk it this week, expect the SCCW to run out of film when you hand some over to him, 'cause I know for a fact, he'll just keep rambling on.

Craig stifles a laugh trying to stay neutral in the discussion.

Craig James: We've heard it all before from both of you when it comes to each other anyway, so I'll change the subject once again.  I think a few letters will sum up what I am about to ask you.  NeWA.

Spike: I knew this was coming sooner or later Craig.  Well, here goes.  I failed.  I wanted to be the first man to bring NeWA gold to SCCW, and I failed.  I lost the 6 man elimination match, and I let SCCW down.  But rest assured, I won't let that stop me.  I will bounce back from that set back, I always do.  NeWA hasn't seen the last of me yet, and whether I'm the first guy to do it or not, I am determined to bring one of those title belts back to SCCW.

Craig James: Everyone is proud of the effort you gave Spike.  You did the best you could.

Spike: Maybe.

Craig James: C'mon, let's get out of here, I'm dying for something to eat.

Spike: Some things never change.

The two men smile at each other  and stand from the seats they were in and head off towards the exit of the arena as the scene fades to black
