Win/Loss/Draw: Next Match: People Mentioned:

Vs Ryan Burns

CPT, Morpheous, Burns, NBK

"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled.  They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake.  These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one."

the rematch of a lifetime...

The scene opens to find Spike sitting in a black leather arm chair.  The camera is focused from behind him, looking over his shoulder.  The arm chair is pointed towards the far corner of the wall, where the big screen TV is positioned.  As the camera manages to zoom in, it becomes clear that Spike is watching a show about wrestling.  Not just any show though, Sunday Night Slams.  Last weeks Sunday Night Slam.  In fact, it's CPT versus, well no-ones really sure who it was.  Just as the match is drawing to a close, Spike starts laughing to himself.  He begins to speak.

Spike: Look at you CPT.  Too bust ranting and raving about America and Iraq and any other country your remedial Geography lessons taught you about to even win a match.  I saw a side of you that no-one has ever seen before a few weeks ago, hell, you beat me.  Now look at you.  You went downhill in three weeks.  You're pathetic, a joke.  And the title rematch that you did have, you blew it.  You gave it away, to a guy that lost to a woman.  Wow, the title picture is looking very bleak if that's the only guy that they can come up with to fight for it.  It's a good job that the saviors of that title are competing this week, but I'll get back to that in a minute.

Spike reaches for a remote control and fast forwards the tape a little, stopping just at the conclusion of his match with NBK.

Spike: I could take a route here that many would think would be the obvious one to take and claim that I won that match.  That I got back in the ring before the referee could count to ten, but I didn't.  I was a split second too late.  But at least I got back in the ring, which is more than I can say for NBK.  There is something that should be bought to many peoples attention here though.  I don't say this very often, so listen closely.  NBK took me to my limit last week, and I did to him, and no winner was decided.  To any that saw that match, it's clear that this isn't over.  NBK and myself, we will meet again, and when we do, we'll most likely tear the place down again.  But one day, we will settle our differences, it might not be any time soon, but it will happen.  Until then NBK...

Spike presses another button on the remote and stops the tape.  After another button press, the TV's screen flashes quickly as it switches off, leaving nothing but a black, empty screen.  The camera starts to pan around a little, around and over Spikes shoulder, towards his front.  As it does it sees a small bottle of pills on the table next to him.  Pain medication, trying to relieve the pain in his lower back from where NBK slammed him onto the steel ring steps a few nights earlier.  Spike notices that the camera has picked up on that and interjects quickly.

Spike: Don't worry, I'll be one hundred percent by Sunday night.  Nothing would stop me from giving anything less than that, especially in the given circumstances.  I caught what Ryan had to say about this Sunday, and I have to say, he did one hell of a job hyping us both up.  That's very kind of you Ryan, and I have to agree, I also have respect for you.  There is one thing that I noticed about what you said though.  You seem to be proud that you went eleven matches with just one loss, but you never said who it was that handed you that loss did you.  I don't think you like thinking about that though do you.  Let me refresh your memory, I beat you Ryan.  I handed you your first EVER defeat in an SCCW ring, that's got to be a kick in the teeth for you.  You never really bounced back from that though did you?  You've lost three more times since then and the only other win you had was with me as your partner.

I am glad however that you decided to mention how this will be different to the last time we met, because I agree with you entirely.  It will be a whole new ball game.  Last time we met, you didn't have you head completely in the game, but then again, neither did I.  We're both going into this one focused Ryan, and in all honesty, it'll be a real toss up as to who gets the win.  There will be one good thing to come from this though.  The winner will receive a title shot at the Simcoe County Heavyweight title.  One of us will be competing for it.  If you ask me, they should've just thrown Morpheous straight in with us on Sunday and let us fight it out there and then.

This is what many people should be calling 'rematch of the century'.  Spike, "The True SCCW Franchise", versus the next big impact player Ryan Burns.  It doesn't get any bigger than this.  This really is the case of the unstoppable force meets the immoveable object.  I've been in these types of match before Ryan, with people just as great as you are.  Devin Hawk, Midnight Felon, Sloppy Joe even, and in those big situations, all I do is take things seriously.  I've had countless 'big matches' and I make a habit of not blowing them.  I plan on making this week no exception.

I see that you have someone who wants to 'save you'.  Very poetic.  I hope it's not that guy from before, I forget his name, but jesus he got on my nerves.  Remember that Ryan, when he did all the talking for you?  Then when I questioned your manliness you kicked him to the curb.  Saying that, since you got rid of him, you've kind of been on a downward spiral, so who knows maybe you should let him save you...

Spike pauses for a moment as he adjusts himself in his seat, making himself more comfortble.

Spike: Just in case you didn't know, Winter Discontent 2003 was the very first time I ever appeared at a big SCCW show.  I didn't do too badly at it either.  In fact, I won tag team gold.  Look back at my history at the big shows Ryan, I've won countless titles at them.  This weeks is slightly different though, I'll be competing for the chance at a title, but it's all the same to me.  You mentioned how great the disappointment is when you lose a title, well I have to agree, it's tremendous.  But it's not as great as the desire to regain a title.  Trust me, I've had nothing but that desire since the second I heard CPTs name announced as the champion.  You don't know what it is like to hold that title, and let me tell you, it's the greatest feeling that you could ever imagine.  It's like a drug, the adrenaline constantly pumping, knowing that you are the best, and I'm addicted to it.  Ever since that first tag team title win, I've been addicted to it.  You know something, in my time here, which has been just over a year, I've had a lot of fixes, seven to be precise.  Hell I've held the Heavyweight title more times than most people have had titles altogether.  That feeling is what brings me back to the rings of SCCW week after week after week.  That feeling is what has motivated me to such an impressive record, and that feeling is what will push me to gain my fourth Heavyweight title reign.

You think it'd be a good way to start the new year to win it for your first time?  Try winning it for the fourth, that feeling would eclipse all others.  I know it's a hell of a task that awaits me.  Ryan Burns is no easy target, and I agree, Team NWA made a very big error in judgment by thinking otherwise, but I've proved before, that I AM up to the challenge of taking you on and winning.  I will make any sacrifices I need to to get the job done.  You know why, it's very simple...when it comes to winning titles...I'm hooked.

The camera zooms out slowly as the scene fades to black.
