Vs CPT

CPT, Jay Jerzey,

Mapleleaf

"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled.  They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake.  These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one."

finally, the true franchise will be decided

The scene opens to find Spike and his girlfriend, Jane, sitting on a black leather settee.  The room around them is mostly dark, just a few shadows coming from the fireplace, where the roaring flame is casting shadows around the room.  The usually white walls are now a orangey-red color where the flames are reflecting off them.  Spike takes a drink from a pint glass and then places it down on the small glass table in front of them.  He turns to Jane and continues to speak.

Spike: I don't know what to make of this week really.

Jane: What do you mean?  All week long you've been saying how you're going to beat that guy.

Spike: I know I have, and I still believe that I will, but CPT has been different this week.  He finally seems motivated.

Jane: Well, judging by what happened last week, to his wife, wouldn't you be?

Spike: Yes I would.  I mean, if anyone ever did anything to you in the arena, then I know for a fact that they wouldn't be able to walk out of there.  But I don't think that's all that's motivating him.

Jane: Why?  What else could there be?

Spike: The title of course.  You see, he's been in big matches before, and blown all of them.  So to be honest, I think he's just trying to put up a brave front.  I know he's tried to get some of the spotlight on him in the past, but it never worked.  The X-Title that he held put him under some mood lights for a while, but never the brightest spotlight.  This week, win or lose, he's in the spotlight.  I think he's just trying to stop himself from being exposed as a fraud.

Jane: I know what you're saying, but he wouldn't still be about if he didn't have some talent.

Spike: But think about it, he's been in SCCW nearly a year, and he's amounted to nothing.  And in my opinion, he never will.

Jane: I can see your point, but don't underestimate him this week.  He's running on pure hatred and anger at the moment, that's a formidable force to reckon with.

Spike: I know, and I know he'll do whatever it takes to save his flailing career on Sunday.  He'll take whatever type of win he can.

Jane: I have to ask, are you worried about this Unknown guy?

Spike: He definitely seems to be a threat.  He says we've met before and if it's who I'm thinking of, we definitely have some unfinished business.

Jane: But the guy straight out said he'd slit your throat, doesn't that concern you?

Spike: I've been taking threats off people for years, but no-one has ever said anything like that to me, so yeah it is a little disconcerting.  But when has anyone ever been able to get one over on me and put me down for good?  Never.  And this guy isn't going to change that.  When the time comes, I'll take care of it.

Jane: Okay, but just be careful on Sunday, this guy seems mentally unstable, so be ready for anything.

Spike: I will be, that I can promise you.

Jane: Well, some of us have to be up early in the morning, so I'm going to bed.

Spike: Okay, I'll be up in a bit.  Good night.

Jane: Good night.

Jane stands up from the settee kisses Spike on the forehead.  She walks out of the room, closing the door behind her.  Spike adjusts in his seat and starts to talk out loud, but directing his words to the camera.

Spike: I wonder what you're doing now CPT.  Are you preparing for our match?  Hitting the gym, in a training ring, or at the bedside of your wife still.  I still say that it wasn't my fault and I don't mean this to sound heartless, but leave her for now.  IF you spend all week by her bedside, are you really going to be ready for this fight?  I seriously doubt it.  Face it CPT, you need all the training and preparations that you can.  It recently came to light that Jay Jerzey admitted that I was a better man when we faced.  Do you know what it takes for him to admit that?  Well, considering that that's the first time he's ever said it, a hell of a lot.  He also bought up a good point when he listed the top people in this company.  After about number 5, people stop paying attention.  You weren't in the top five CPT, so where are?  Drifting in nothingness, that's where.  But if Jay has admitted that I'm the better man, what will you have to admit to yourself?

First of all, you'll have to admit that you will never get your hands on the Simcoe County Heavyweight title.  Then there is the fact that I am better than you, the fact that I am the True Franchise, not you, and finally, you'll be forced to admit that you're through.  I'm not saying this to come across as arrogant, I'm just speaking the truth.  Look at the caliber of people that I have beaten in the past, NBK, BBK, Felon, Rage, Sloppy Joe and the list goes on.  You have a list that is full of the same or at least very similar names don't you.  The only difference is that it's a list of people that have beaten you not the other way around.

You say that you're still young and that you've got your whole career ahead of you, well, after the humiliation you'll be put through this week, you're not going to want to carry on with your career, at least not in SCCW anyway.  I want you to take a moment to remember Sunday night.  I want it embedded in your memory for the rest of your life.  Your name up in lights, main-eventting a big show, the biggest prize in this company on the line, fighting the biggest match of your life against the toughest opponent to date.  I want you to keep that memory, however bitter sweet it will turn out to be.  The biggest night of your life will turn sour when you realise that you just can't beat me and that you will never get to the top while I am around.

Do you remember when this all started?  No, not the tag match I showed you the other day, the real start.  When I became the Franchise of SCCW.  When you joined SCCW, you were already calling yourself that, nothing to prove that you deserve it, but me, I earned it.  I fought and clawed my way to the top, taking nothing for granted and making the most of everything.  In the eleven months I've been in SCCW, I've missed two weeks  of action, that's all.  I've stuck with SCCW through thick and thin and won everything they have to offer.  I am the reason that people sit in those seats week after week, not you.  That is the reason I call myself the Franchise, and no-one, not even you can dispute that.

I guess all the time for talk is drawing to a close.  This will be a memorable week for me as well CPT.  It will be the first time that you will finally be knocked down, and stay down.  Get ready CPT, because your wake up call is going to come sooner than you think.  As soon as I hit the Impaler, you're false front, you're false bravado, YOU will be over.

Spike stands and walks away from the line of view of the camera.  The camera turns to follow him but just gets a close view of the Simcoe County Heavyweight title belt.  After a few seconds the scene fades to black.
