CPT, Daz and Mapleleaf |
"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." finally, the true franchise will be decided The scene opens to see Spike sitting on a black leather settee, a remote control in one hand. He points it towards the television set in the corner and the VCR whirs to life. The screen flickers and the then the picture improves. As the camera gets closer, it sees CPT in the ring with Spike. On the apron of the ring is Yaron Mor and in the other corner is Spikes former partner, Wolf. While the tape is playing Spike begins to talk. Spike: A lot of people say how they watch tapes of upcoming opponents to get a feel for their style and understand them better, so I am as well. But what better match to watch than the last time me and CPT met in the ring. Now for those of you who don't remember, here's a trip down memory lane. Me and Wolf, High Impact going up against CPT and Yaron Mor for a tag team title shot. A big match really. So guess what CPT did. The same thing he does in all big matches, he blew it. Oh, here's the best part. Spike motions towards the TV set CPT covers Wolf, but Spike breaks it up before he can do anything. Wolf gets an immediate advantage, and stomps a few boots into CPT’s head. He picks CPT up and whips him into the turnbuckle by Yaron. He hits the Harlem DDT (tornado DDT) and goes for a cover, but the ref won't count. Yaron comes running at Wolf, and hits a clothesline. The tag was made, and Wolf and Mor are the legal men. CPT rolls out of the ring. Yaron looks around and taunts. He heads up stairs, and signals for something big. Wolf throws the ref into the ropes, and Yaron falls, giving his groin the chance to meet the turnbuckle. Wolf climbs to the second turnbuckle, and then to the third. He smiles a sadistic smile and lifts Mor up, up, up, and brings the two of them down to the ground, with a superplex. Wolf rolls over to Spike and makes a tag. Mor just lies there. CPT is beginning to gets his composure together again, and stands up in the middle of the ring, on the outside. He pulls himself up, and by the time he does, Yaron Mor is whipped into the ropes, and he nails CPT face first, knocking both of their heads together, CPT to the floor, and Mor backwards. Mor is reeling backwards and Spike comes up behind him and nails the Impaler! Mor is down and out. 1......2.......3! Spike: You choked CPT, you blew it, you and Yaron blew it. Now I know you're probably going to do the obvious and place all the blame onto Yaron, but a true competitor makes the most of his opportunities. A true "Franchise" would've won that one, which is exactly what I did. Do you remember the first time I got put with a tag partner I didn't like, it was Y2RR. Did I choke like you did, no, I won us the tag team titles. That's what I do CPT, I win championships. Eight championships in less than one year. Now, the most important one of all is around my waist and you want to take it away. You say that this is your life, well this title means everything to me. The phrase I'm about to use is a tired old cliché, but I'm going to give it a whole new meaning. If you want this belt, then you'll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers. After losing that match to me and Wolf, did you take the high ground? Did you do what a Franchise would've done? Let's see shall we. Spike points back towards the TV set. The bell rings, and High Impact receive their hands raised high above their head in a sign of victory. CPT goes around the ring, and picks up a chair. He slides it into the ring and this sends High Impact out of the ring, and up the ramp. CPT helps up Mor, chair in his hand. He checks to see if he's okay, and then turns around. He then comes back the other way, wielding the chair, knocking Mor to the ground, busting open his former tag-team partner. CPT grins, and picks up Mor again, signaling for the Trip, and nails it, sending Yaron Mor flying into the air, and CPT standing triumphantly over his fallen partner. CPT soon makes his way out of the ring and back to the back, laughing to himself. Spike: You attacked an already injured Yaron Mor, your partner. Is that the actions of a champion? I think not. You know, I was watching the TV the other day as well, a video in fact of CPT's latest promotional interview, and it was nearly as funny as a stand up comedian. So you're a road-block to me being truly great. CPT has said this so many times that he is starting to believe it. CPT, you're no road block, you're a speed bump, just something trying to slow me down, not obstruct me. In case you didn't realise already, I am already on my way to greatness. Beating you will make no difference to that. After Sunday, you won't even be a speed bump, you'll be road kill. What makes you think that you are such a worthy opponent anyway? Do you realise that the only reason you have a Simcoe County Heavyweight title shot is the name you chose to bastardize? Think about it, you lost the Barrie District title match to Jay Jerzey, I then went on to beat Jay, so why in the blue hell would you have a bigger title match? Because you think you are the Franchise of SCCW. That's the only reason. Not paying dues, or being here for so long, it's because I decided to pick up on you using a name that belongs to me. What I am about to say is simple logic, so even you should understand it, if I beat Jay and Jay beat you, then in theory, I should beat you. Come Sunday, I will make that theory a fact when I pin your shoulders to the mat and see you leave SCCW for good. I also heard you say that the Canadian fans love you. Well, you are the hometown boy aren't you. It always strikes me as odd that people would support you even though you amount to nothing. This isn't me being 'mean' or 'trash-talking' you, it's just me stating the obvious. You're worthless CPT, and you always will be. All those Franchise t-shirts you see out there with the fans, tell everyone why they are there, the real reason. It's because you make them in the back of you van and pay the fans to take them off you. That's got to be the reason, either that or you have one hell of a big family. All the authentic t-shirts out there, read "The True Franchise", that's me. You're the wannabe, the pretender, and soon, very soon, I'll expose you for the fraud that you are. I also see that you went down the old fashioned road of looking at my title history. Very good, I didn't know you'd learnt to read already. Even more impressive than that, you worked out the length of my reign, you've learnt to count as well. Well done, you're well on your way to being an adult now CPT. My past has nothing to do with this Sunday. My first two reigns as champion were abrupt, too abrupt, but this one will rectify it. This one will be the crowning reign of SCCW history, the one that takes the title back to it's former glory. Spike stands and walks over to the title belt which is resting on the mantelpiece of a large oak fireplace. He picks the title up and stares at it for a few seconds. Spike: Just for the record, I don't want a Gene Snitsky-style victimisation. When I hit Mapleleaf, it was accidental. Daz moved you out of the line of fire, so in no way was it my fault. But, i've got you all fired up now haven't I CPT. All the better. 'Cause when you face me, you'll know that you're at your absolute best, and when you lose, it'll give me all the more satisfaction to see your world crumble down before you. Just think, if you hadn't called yourself the Franchise, you wouldn't have even been a blip on my radar, but until Monday morning, you're all that's in my sights. Spike looks up at the camera and stares deep into it as the scene fades slowly to black> |
