Vs CPT

Jay Jerzey, CPT, Daz and Mapleleaf

"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled.  They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake.  These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one."

finally, the true franchise will be decided

The scene opens to see Spike sitting in under a rather extreme white light.  He is wearing a black t-shirt and black denim jeans, giving an unintentionally somber atmosphere.   The camera pans out slowly to find Craig James sitting opposite him and an SCCW camera crew surrounding them.  Craig shuffles a stack of papers that are placed in his lap before looking up at Spike.

Craig: Are you ready Spike?

Spike: Yeah, start rolling whenever.

Craig nods to the camera crew and the cameras suddenly whir to life.

Craig: I'm joined here today with the current reigning SCCW Simcoe County Heavyweight Champion, Spike.  Spike, welcome.

Spike: Thanks Craig.

Craig: I know all the fans are eager to hear from you after last weeks Slam, so I'll get right on with it.  How did it feel to finally meet Jay Jerzey, the man who many believe to be one of the top ranked guys in this company, and beat him?

Spike: Well, all week long I said that I would beat him, and I did.  After he jumped me from behind, I realized something, he's not in my league.  I did what I always do, go out there and beat my opponent, cementing me further as not only being one of the top guys, but THE top guy in SCCW.  Now if you don't mind can we not talk about Jay, he's a waste of my time, I'm done with him now.

Craig: Sure thing.  The next thing that everyone seems to be talking about is this new 'mystery' guy.  For those of you watching that didn't catch his last promotional shoot, he talked about the downfall of the company and how Spike is for a lack of better terms, inadequate to be a champion.  He also mentioned that he had been here before, so Spike, any ideas on who the mystery man is?

Spike: i have my theories.  I've heard speculation from the boys in the back and the scope of who it is is very wide.  Devin Hawk, Baine, Mike Austin, hell some have even said Wolf.  I even heard the one guy say it was Chris Bond, but we all saw what happened last time he tried the masked approach.  To be honest, in my mind, I've narrowed down the list to one guy, and if it turns out to be the one I think, I have some unfinished business with him anyway.  For him to say that I don't deserve this belt is bullshit.  I deserve this belt more than anyone on the roster, so he can kiss my ass.  If he thinks he can take it from me, then he's more than welcome to come and try.

Craig: That brings me now to your actions last week on Sunday Night Slam.  Let me roll some footage here to show everyone what happened.

*CPT turns to face Spike and gets right in his face before backing down and stepping back.*

CPT ~ Look, it'll all be over soon, I'll be over. Our match, my career here in SCCW, done. You can have the Franchise name, just take it. I know that is what you want. So just take it, Okay?

Spike ~ It's not that easy CPT. I won't let you lie down in our match. I'm going to beat the holy hell out of you and make sure that you never use that name again.

CPT ~ Fine, whatever.

*CPT turns to walk away and so does Maple Leaf.*

Spike ~ Are you really that yellow CPT, you're backing down that easy, with no fight? Let's see if I can light a fire under you with this.

*Spike drops the belt and picks up a steel chair. He folds it up and rears back swinging for CPT's back. Daz sees it and knocks CPT out of the way but the thud if steel on flesh is still heard. CPT looks up from the floor to see Maple Leaf knocked out and face down on the concrete. A look of shock on his face as he turns to see Spike standing over them, chair still in hand. Spike drops the chair, not having meant to hit her, and picks up the belt before walking away. The look of shock turns to anger as CPT crawls over to Maple Leaf.*

CPT ~ SHIT! Maple, are you alright. What the hell?

Daz ~ He said he was going to light a fire under your ass. I’m going to get medical help!!

CPT ~ Well Spike that really did light a fire under me, and you will pay for this.

*The scene fades as Daz rushes off to get medical help for her.*

Craig: I'm not pointing any fingers, or blaming anyone for what happened, but it happened nonetheless, so any comments?

Spike: Well, if anyone watches the footage, then they can clearly see that I am not to blame for what happened.  I've been here for nearly a year, missing only two weeks of action.  I am a true competitor, so why would I resort to something like that on purpose.  It was an accident.  It was never meant to happen.  When I swung that chair, it was meant to hit CPT, not her.  For that I am sorry, I would never do something like that intentionally.  But one good thing did come from that.  CPT looks like he's finally ready.

Craig: It's kind of an extreme way to get him 'fired up' though isn't it?

Spike: Not really.  The chair was meant for CPT's back, nothing major, just a 'warning shot' if you will.  I didn't want him injured, I wanted him angry.  I thought back to recent weeks about what got me fired up enough, and I kept coming back to all the times that I have been attacked from behind.  Words didn't work against CPT, but actions did.  You see, if CPT had done what he wanted and 'lay down' for me this week, what would I have proved?  Nothing.  Being the Franchise is about taking on challengers and beating them at their best.  I couldn't have taken the name from CPT if he wasn't going to put up a fight.

Craig: Is this what the rivalry is all about, the Franchise name?

Spike: Well, that's the way it started.  It's gotten a little more personal now for CPT considering the actions of last week and the fact that he finally gets a title shot.  He seems to think that he deserves the Franchise name.  Why?  What has he done that warrants him being the top guy?  Has he held this title?  No.  Has he held the Barrie District title?  No.  How about the TV title or the tag titles?  No.  He's worthless.  The only thing he has to brag about is his x-title reign, which I matched anyway by being the last ever Lethal champion.  CPT is relying on this match.  He is throwing everything he has and everything he is into it.  If he loses, where does that leave him?  He's no longer the Franchise, and the year long trip he's been on to get this title shot will be over.  No fairytale ending, just emptiness.  The outcome of this match will be one of two extremes.  The first, he wins, he's on top of the world, the new era  of CPT's career starts and I carry on fighting.  The other, the more likely scenario, he loses.  His world is shattered, he has nothing left and leaves SCCW, never to be seen again, while I continue to take this company to new heights.

I caught his last promotional video, and I enjoyed the trip down memory lane.  He is right though.  We both started out the same, no one gave us the time of day, we were both nothing.  I climbed a lot quicker than he did, hell, he's still climbing.  How many chanced did I have at the big time and end up blowing it?  None.  I won everything I could.  How about him?  One chance after another, all squandered, all thrown away.  He's never amounted to anything in nearly one year, so why will this one be any different?  He's claiming that it will, but anyone that knows him, even Daz and Mapleleaf, they all know he's one huge mass of false confidence.  He's going in strong, but that will all just lead to a bigger downfall when he fails.

CPT's will be another career that will be added to my list of ruin.  I've seen a lot come and go in my time here, but I've never seen anyone stay in the lower realms of a company for as long as CPT has.  This will be the straw that breaks the camels back, it'll be over CPT, all over.  He thinks the Dazzler will mark the end, he's way off.  The Impaler will mark the end, the end of the match, the end of his masquerade, the end of CPT.

Craig: That's about all we have time for today Spike.  Thanks again for the comments, and good luck this upcoming week.

Spike: Thank you.

Craig gives the camera crew the nod again and they stop rolling.

Craig: Just for the record Spike, I know you wouldn't hit Mapleleaf on purpose, and so does everyone else, well, everyone except for CPT.

Spike: Thanks Craig.  I may not be happy with the way things went, but I am happy that CPT is finally fired up at me again.  This should be a good one.

Craig: And I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Spike stands from the chair and so does Craig as they shake hands.  Spike leaves the interview set-up as the crew being to clear away their equipment and the scene slowly fades to black.
