Vs Jay Jerzey

Jay Jerzey

"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled.  They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake.  These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one."

the one we've all been waiting for...

The scene opens to see Spike sitting in a black Ford Mustang, pulled over on the side of the road.  He is talking on his cell phone.

Spike: No Jane, I'm not sure what I'm doing yet.  What time will you be getting back today?

Jane: About five, maybe six depending on traffic.

Spike: Well maybe we should re-arrange it for tomorrow then.

Jane: Okay, I'll ring them in a minute and re-arrange the booking then.

Spike: Okay.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Jane speaks again.

Jane: How's the cuts now?

Spike: They're okay, healing up well, I should be fine by Sunday.

Jane: Good, I don't like seeing you that beaten up.

Spike: Don't worry it won't be like that again.  That match was different, it was a grudge match, so there had to be some type of stipulation to it, it was Rage that came up with the barbed wire idea, not me.

Jane: Good to know.  What's it going to be this week then, a normal match?

Spike: Yeah,  it's just a straight singles match.  Me versus Jay Jerzey.

Jane: Okay.  Are you sure you're ready to get in the ring again.  I mean you did well last week, but that wasn't against someone like Jay was it.

Spike: I'll be fine, besides, fighting Jay Jerzey, I wouldn't miss it for the world.  I've been waiting for this one for a while now.

Jane: I know, ever since he did that 'sneak attack' on you, you've been waiting to get him back.

Spike: And I will, this week, I will get him back for it.

Jane: I'd better go, my break is nearly over and  I've got to get back to class.  This adult-student thing sounded better on paper.

Spike: Okay, I'll talk to you later then.  Bye

Jane: Bye.

Spike hangs up the phone and reaches forward to place it back on the dashboard of this car.  He looks over at his Simcoe County title belt, resting on top of the bag holding his wrestling gear.  He grabs the belt and gets out of the car.  He shuts the door behind him and walks over to a wooden bench on a small grass verge on the side of the road.  He is wearing blue denim jeans, a white t-shirt and a black shirt sleeved shirt over the top of it.  He looks over the back of the verge and sees the sudden drop at the edge of it, leading down to a rocky, trail that goes right down to a small lake at the bottom.  He tosses the title belt onto his shoulder and begins to speak.

Spike: Jay, where do I really begin?  Is there anywhere to begin?  I suppose the first time we ever crossed paths is the starting point of 'us'.  When I beat your tag team partner, Patrick McCarthy.  That night, I realised one thing, you are actually worth all the hype surrounding you.  I had respect for you.  We went toe-to-toe in that ring and barely hit a move on each other, do you realise that no-one has ever wrestled to as much of a stalemate in SCCW as we did that night?  We were equals.  But we're not anymore.  I became the better man when you took it upon yourself to attack me from behind the following week.  Any respect I had for you was gone, as quickly as you earned it in the first place.  Not once in all the time you've been in SCCW have you felt the need to attack people from behind to make yourself feel superior to them, so I have a question for you.  Why this time?  Did you feel intimidated by me?  Did you realise that you'd finally met someone who you weren't superior to?  I guess you're the only one who really knows the answer to why you did it.

All I know is that I told you that we would meet again, and that I would seek retribution for what you did, and now, that time has come.  For the first time ever, we'll face each other one-on-one, living legend versus future legend, it'll be a classic.  There's one thing I remember you saying a few weeks ago Jay that has been bugging me for a while now.  You said that you lost respect for me because I use the Impaler, a DDT, as a finisher.  Well let me ask you Jay, has my finishing move had any effect on my accomplishments, perhaps.  If I can beat people with a DDT, why should I have to invent some bizarre move to put people away?  All I need is the DDT to get a win over someone.  Look back in the history books Jay when has anyone ever kicked out of the Impaler?  Never.  It's a tried and tested formula, so if it's not broke, don't fix it.

I've achieved more here than you could dream of, and that's what annoys you Jay.  You see, I believe that you are jealous of me.  You want to be the Simcoe County Champion, you want to be where I am.  You say that you'll do it sooner or later, that you're the future, but you know as well as I do that you'd give your right arm to be where I am right now.  You might still be holding onto that Barrie District Championship, but you know that that doesn't mean you're the best.

He taps at the title that is on his shoulder.

Spike: This is the one that means you're the best, and you'd kill to get it.  I used to be where you are, the champion of the people that aren't quite good enough to fight for this.  But I moved on, you haven't.  You're not moving on with the times, you're still stuck fighting for that when you know you want bigger and better things.  Can you break free from that mould and try to go onto those things?  I'm not so sure.  You'll inevitably disagree with me, and say that I'm full of shit and that you're the greatest thing since sliced bread, but deep down, in your heart, do you believe yourself?  Everything that I say, I believe.  Two weeks ago, I marked the new beginning of my career when I captured this belt for the third time inside a year.  In eleven months in SCCW, I've won eight championships, a record that no-one can rival.  Last week, I ended the run of the 'new guy' Ryan Burns, proving that I am here to stay and no-one, past, present or future can take me down from the to spot of this company.  Not Ryan Burns, and not you Jerzey.

I'm looking forward to this week, and finally being able to shut you up and settle whatever grudge you have against me.

Spike turns to walk back to his car and the scene slowly fades to black.
