w/CPT Vs Jerzey and McCarthy

Everyone in Match, Rage

"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled.  They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake.  These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one."

The true franchise....and cpt

The scene opens to see Spike storming through the halls of the Barrie arena, moments after his loss to Rage on Sunday Night Slam.  He is still dressed from his match, and the black triangles of face paint underneath his eyes have more or less completely worn away.  he runs a hand over his head and then starts shouting to himself, furious over his loss.  Suddenly, he hears someone call his name.  He looks around but doesn't see anyone.  The voice calls out again, and Spike sees Craig James and a camera crew following closely behind.  He shakes his head as if to say, "Is this really happening, now of all times?", but Craig is persistent.

James: Spike, can I just get a few words about what happened out there?  Do you have any words for Rage?

Spike: Rage, this is far from over between us.  I hope you have come to realise that while I still have breath left in my body, I will stop at nothing to see you lose that title.

James: Well, actually Spike, the match has now been made for Nowhere to Run.  It'll be you versus Rage for the Simcoe County Heavyweight title, in a barbed wire match.

Spike: It's set?  It's been made?  Then in that case Rage, you'll be losing that title before they even change the name plate on it.  Me and you Rage, we have a date with destiny and destiny is wrapped in barbed wire.

Spike turns to walk off but Craig James stops him, speaking timidly, as though he is bearing bad news.

James: Uhh...Spike.  I just thought you might want to know what your match is for next week.  It was booked moments ago, do you want to know?

Spike: Of course I do.  Who is it?  Who do I get to make an example of for Rage to take note of me?

James: Uhh...well, it's a tag team match.  You're against Jay Jerzey and Patrick McCarthy and your partner is, well...

Spike: Spit it out Craig, who is it?

James: It's CPT.

Spike: What the hell!  As if losing to Rage wasn't bad enough, they go and do the unthinkable.  Do the people that book the matches around here even watch the shows?!  How can they team me with this...this wanabee, CPT?  Did they not see what happened last week?  What part of me challenging him to a match makes them think that I want to be his tag partner?  And to top it all off, I have to fight Jay Jerzey and Patrick McCarthy, the tag team champions.  If it was one-on-one with either of them then that'd be fine, but this is going to be a damn near handicap match, after all, my partner is damn near mentally handicapped.  Now I'm not a cruel person, usually, but seeing CPT walk around claiming to be the Franchise of a company he's never even been at the top of is goddamn ludicrous.  If CPT screws this one up for me, I'll kick his ass right there and right then.  As for Jerzey and McCarthy, well, what can I really say about them that hasn't already been said.  It'll be tough and a real challenge, but I'm ready for them.

Spike turns around and walks away towards his locker room.  He leaves Craig standing there with the camera crew.  James turns to the camera man and speaks to him.

James: Go after him.  Ask him to embellish on Jerzey and McCarthy, he might be more willing to say something that isn't in an interview.

The camera nods and follows Spike down to his locker room.  He knocks on the door after him and Spike turns.  knowing what he wants, he beckons him in, motioning for him to sit in the corner of the room.  Spike starts to unpick the tape from his fists and wrists as he starts to speak.

Spike: Finally, after all this time, I'm going to get in the ring with Jay Jerzey.  After countless months of us both being on a roll and making huge strides through the company, our paths will cross.  I know he's thinking the same thing, at last we meet.  It's been a long time coming.  Jerzey, a two time Barrie District Champion, and god knows how many tag titles he's down as having, with all the partner changeovers that took place.  But that doesn't matter, what matters is that he is the champion now.  The thought may be crossing his mind that if my team is successful this week then we'd get a title shot, but I'm here to tell you Jay, I wouldn't want it.  Not only would I have to partner with CPT again, but I'd have to give up my chance at the Simcoe County Heavyweight title, and I think you'd agree when I say that that just isn't going to happen.

Jay, your record here is good, hell it's impressive, and who knows, if you keep it up, in a few years, it might just be nearly as impressive as mine.  You've been tearing through the competition haven't you Jay.  Hell, you even beat Wolf for that title you're carrying around.  But that all stops now.  You won't tear through me, you won't breeze past me.  The only hope you have of getting a win through this one is to do what I'm sure you will do, target CPT.  He's the weak link for me this week, everyone knows it.  I'm sure that given your tag team history, you'll be able to capitalize on the dysfunction that we will inevitably show.  But in saying that, you and McCarthy have only had one outing together.  Granted you won it, but you must still be working out the kinks in your team.  I want you both to know, that no matter how much I respect what you are both capable of, the second one of you slips up, it's over.  I won't hesitate to end this one as soon as I can, so I can get as far away from the jinx of CPT as I can.

Now, Patrick McCarthy.  You've been here what, two, maybe three weeks and I have to say, well done.  Not only have you got yourself a title belt, but you caught my eye.  You see, people like me make up the upper echelon of this company and I think that eventually you'll join me there.  It's a good place to be, ask Jay, he's that one big match away from it himself.  I won't lie though, I don't know a damn thing about you, on a personal level, but I know enough about you on a professional level.  Too many people use their past accomplishments from other companies to try to get noticed, but not you.  I say, you're only as good as your last match, so by that logic, you're good.  You've made an impact here, and I'm sure it will carry on, but as I said to Jay, not at my expense.

Spike trails off as the scene slowly fades to black.
