| 21/10/3 | Vs Rage for the Simcoe County Heavyweight title
|
Angelo Rivera, Wolf, Rage, C.P.T |
"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." The first of two... The scene opens to a close up of the Simcoe County Heavyweight title belt. The camera stays focused on it as a voice starts to speak, echoing in the room as there is little inside it. Spike: I did it. I said all along, ever since Mike Austin beat me for it a month or so back. I said I'd be back for it, and I am. I had possibly the most grueling match of my career, maybe in SCCW history, and I survived it. Not only did I survive it, I came out on top, and I beat Angelo Rivera after 60 minutes of wrestling. That's the type of thing that would pave the way for most to give endless amounts of comments about how they are the greatest thing to grace a wrestling ring, but not me. I have a title belt to say all that for me. My career has been one highlight after another, but they all pale in comparison to this. The first person to ever hold this title twice. It's quite an achievement. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it justifies me being called "The True Franchise". There is someone else running around with the same name as me, impersonating greatness, but I promise you it will end and it will end soon. C.P.T, when I'm done with my current business, rest assured, I'll be coming for you. Even with all my accomplishments, there is someone who seems destined to try to take it all away from me again. That's you Rage. The camera zooms out and up towards the figure standing behind it. Spike is standing with his arms folded across his chest and with a remote control in his one hand. He is wearing dark blue jeans and a black t-shirt with a print on the front, but his arms block the sight of what it is. The window nearby is letting in a few stray beams of light, but the weather had taken a turn for the worse and had become overcast and dull, so the room is barley lit. He has a few days growth on his face and it has cast a dark shadow across him, making it look as if he is almost in shadow. Spike: The thing that strikes me as odd is that you seem prepared to lose this match. Already thinking ahead to Nowhere to Run. Ready to lose this week only to face me again in late September. Did it ever occur to you that if you can beat me this week, then you wouldn't have to fight me again? It seems as though you are so hung up on getting a second chance to face me for the belt, that you're forgetting about the first. We're fighting this week Rage, do you realise that? I caught what you had to say earlier this week, and you're right. Wow, I never thought I'd hear myself say that. Rage....was right. It sounds weird doesn't it. Anyway, I digress. You were right, people will still bring up your past in this one. They'll talk about Wolf, and how you can't win the big one in SCCW. The past does come back to haunt you Rage, but can you live down the past? I guess we'll see won't we. There was one more thing you said, and I'd hate to disappoint you, so, take a look at this Rage, see if it rings any bells... Spike turns and points the remote at the VCR. He pushes the play button and the VCR whirs to life. The TV screen goes from black to a wrestling match. As the camera gets closer, you can tell that it is recent, it is High Impact versus Angelo Rivera and Rage in a tag team match from Sunday Night Slam. The match is already drawing to a close... Rage has
gotten to his feet and is moving towards Spike…then goes to lift him
to his feet and set him up for a “Powerbomb”. Meanwhile…as Wolf
moves out of the corner…Rivera charges at him with all his remaining
strength and launches a spear…but Wolf sidesteps it and Angelo drives
into the corner and connects with the steel post…at the same time that
Rage lifts Spike into the air. Wolf drives himself at Rage and hits the
back of Rage’s legs…causing Rage to collapse with Spike falling atop
him. Spike points the remote again and presses the stop button. He folds his arms across his chest again and begins to speak. Spike: You see Rage, I have video proof that I can beat you. What do you have to say that you can beat me? Words, speculations, nothing. I've proven time and time again that I can back up my words with meaningful actions and this week will be no exception. You claim to be the offspring of extremity, well I have a proposal for you Rage. As you already think I will win this week and we will have our re-match at Nowhere to Run, why not up the stakes a little. I would try to choose a match stipulation, but I don't think it'd be good enough for 'offspring of extremity', so I'll leave it to you. I'll let you decide and you can get back to me on it, how's that? You know something, I just thought of you're excuse for losing the tag team match. "You didn't lose, your team did". I'm surprised you haven't gone for that one sooner Rage. You would be partially right though. It wasn't a singles match it was a tag match. But technically you STILL lost. I get the chance to do something new though now. I won the tag match against you and Rivera, then two weeks ago, I beat Rivera. That just leaves you. This week, I'll cap it off with a clean sweep. I'll end the new streak you think you're going to start, I'll put your career back down into the downward spiral you somehow managed to claw your way out of. I'll squash your hopes of becoming of a champion. As for you not believing in destiny and fate, we'll to each his own. Personally, I don't believe in it either, I think Keanu Reeves put it best, "I don't like the idea that we don't control our own future." So, I'm going to take control of my own future. I'm going to head straight to you for my future Rage. I'm going to make you see what everyone else sees, a pretentious idiot who talks out of his arse. I want you to be at your best Rage, so when I crush your hopes this week, you might not even bother showing up at Nowhere to Run. Don't forget Rage, I'll leave the stipulation of the re-match up to you... Spike turns and walks away from the view of the camera as the scene fades slowly to black. |
