final words before blaze of glory The scene opens up in a fairly small pub. The camera looks around the room for a while before focusing on a corner booth in the far corner of the establishment. It gets closer to find Spike sitting on a chair drinking. He is wearing his usual black leather jacket and blue denim jeans. He is sitting hunched over his drink looking down at the table. He looks up, his face still partially covered by his hair and begins to speak. Spike: So, Chris Bond has decided to speak again. I do agree with you on one point, the type of match isn't in my favour, but I'll deal with it. There is no force on this earth that will make me lose my title without being involved in the decision. Rest assured Chris, either you or BBK are going to be pinned by me at Blaze. I've got to admit Chris, I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting you to be up for this fight, eager for the taste of gold. As it turns out, you don't seem to want it that bad. Where's the guy who has the 'undefeated', unblemished record? That's the guy that I want to face, not the guy who you seem to be lately. The guy who puts in a half ass effort of trying to intimidate me before possibly the biggest match of his career. You know what Chris, you keep thinking that I am forgetting about you, you're wrong. It's just that in my opinion, BBK is a bigger threat. You are not showing me the fire that you used to have, that's why BBK has my attention more than you do. Chris, I always thought that you would amount to something good in SCCW, but now, now I'm not so sure. There is nothing that sets you out from the crowd of others that just drift in limbo their entire careers, never really amounting to much before you eventually just fade away. Admittedly, the way I perceive my career is a way that some people can't handle, and by that I mean taking any risk any time I need to. the main drawback of this is that when people can't handle it, they burn themselves out and just can't do it anymore. What I'm trying to say Chris is make the most of opportunities that present themselves to you, I did and look where I am. To steal a phrase from a man who is a true legend, the late great Kurt Cobain, "It's better to burn out than fade away". Remember that Chris, unless you do something that is truly spectacular then you will just fade away. Spike pauses for a moment and picks up the pint glass from the off the table. He takes a drink from it and places it back down slowly. He sits back in his seat and brushes his hair from his face and starts to talk again. Spike: I guess that brings me to you again BBK. It's becoming familiar now, the banter between us. The insults, the mockery, the berating. Just think, win or lose, next week, it starts all over again. You seem to find it fun to put on stupid voices and repeat what me or my family say, but that's only funny if you're still in high school. In case you didn't notice, we are in the wrestling business not a school playground you immature prick. I take what I do seriously and that now includes kicking your sorry ass all over Blaze of Glory. You want to try to discredit me for all I've done? You don't know anything of my career outside the SCCW, so until you do, you are not one to pass judgment and criticise me. When you know that I have held World titles, Hardcore titles, Intercontinental titles and tag team titles all outside the SCCW, then you talk about my accolades. At first, I thought you were just trying to psyche me out of our match so that I wasn't focused enough to beat you, but now I just think that you're this obnoxious around everyone. You are one of the few people around here that can really piss me off without even being near me. You can dream all you want to about taking my title and putting it on the mantle with your tag belt, but that's all it will ever be, a dream. The cruel reality of it is that I am going to walk out of Blaze with my belt and then next week, I'm going to walk out of Slam with your belt. I was watching your latest promo BBK, what the hell are you talking about? Not caring about the fans, turning my back on them? What have you been smoking? In case you didn't notice, the fans don't get you where you want to be, your talent in the ring and the ability to get the job done do that. Whether they cheer me or boo me, I will still be the same person. I don't change for the fans and I never will. The you questioned my partnership with Wolf. While we have only been in one tag match together, we still won it. And next week, our tag team undefeated streak will remain intact when we beat you and Felon for the gold. But until next week, Wolf has will concentrate on beating Daemon Natas' ass at Blaze. And as for your little buddies, I couldn't give three shits about Felon or SXP or anyone in the Regime, the only person in my sights at the moment is you BBK. And until I beat your ass this week, DDT you face first into the canvas and pin you for the 1, 2, 3 that's exactly the way it will stay. Spike lifts up the glass from the table and finishes it before standing up and leaving the building. Scene fades to black |
