"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." the start of something new... The scene opens up to a shot of a large garden. The grass has recently been cut short and the smell of it is still lingering in the air. Towards the bottom end of the garden, there are several large oak trees, their giant trunks and mass of leaves are casting shadows all over the garden. The hot summer sun is still beaming on the top end of the garden and the back porch of the house. Sitting on a small wooden bench, under the shade of the canopy of the porch is Spike. He is wearing blue denim jeans and a white t-shirt. His hair is tied back and away from his face. His has a somber expression on his face and as the camera gets closer to him, he begins to talk. Spike: Last week, I proved yet again that I am on the top of my game. BBK, I know that I said last week wasn't about either of us getting ahead of each other, but inevitably, that's the way it turned out. Extreme Warrior was taken out of the match and it was left down to you and me. I wanted this one to be a fair match, to finally see who was the better man between us. I guess you proved that it wasn't you. You resorted to low blows and foreign objects and you still couldn't get the job done. Last week, I showed you that I am the better man. If the rumors are true, and that was your last ever match in SCCW, then I want you to go out knowing that I was better than you were. Did that hurt BBK? Did that bruise your ego? Well I'm sorry, but the truth hurts, deal with it. Extreme Warrior, I also heard that that was your last match as well. All I can say is good riddance. I'm glad that I was one of the men who attributed to your downfall and I hope that an SCCW ring is never disgraced with your presence or anyone else from team NWA again. Spike stands up from the bench and walks across the wooden floor of the porch over to the back door. He opens it and walks inside to the kitchen. He reaches for a glass from a cupboard on the far wall and places it down on the work surface closest to the fridge. He opens the fridge up and takes out a carton of orange juice. He fills the glass and places the carton back inside the door of the fridge. He picks up the glass and walks over to the round dining table in the middle of the kitchen. He pulls out a chair and sits down. After taking a drink from the glass, he places it down on the table. The heat of the day, juxtaposed by the coolness of the drink causes tiny beads of condensation to slowly appear on the glass and start to run down towards the surface of the table. Spike looks back up at the camera and starts to speak. His voice is calm and steady. Spike: Since I left the SCCW arena last week, I've been hearing the same questions, over and over, and let me tell you, it's getting monotonous, so let me clear everything up for everyone. Last week, Wolf got in the ring and made his first interview since being arrested little over a month ago. He gave his explanations and his reasons for his return, but I still hadn't spoken to him one-on-one. I was planning on it after the interview, but someone decided to take it upon themselves to stop that. When Wolf was talking, the subject that a lot of people are taking interest in came up. High Impact. Everyone knows who we are, and they know that we were the team to beat around here. Wolf and I are still yet to speak. When he was taken away to a medical facility last week, I still had a match to win. High Impact is still 'in the air' so to speak. Wolf implied that he was willing and ready to re-unite our team and if that is still the case, then the SCCW had better take note, because High Impact will be returning sooner than you'd think. Spikes voice starts to raise slightly with an obivous hint of anger. Spike: Now let me just say a few things about the man who attacked Wolf last week, Angelo Rivera. I don't know why he did what he did, and to be honest I just don't care. What he did makes him no better than the Midnight Felons and the BBKs of the wrestling world. He blindsided somebody and attacked them with a steel chain. Now I don't know if Angelo was just trying to get to me through Wolf, but if he was, then he succeeded. I know that Wolf can fight his own battles and if he catches up to Angelo, then there will be hell to pay, but I KNOW that I will catch up to him. Very soon actually. At first I thought that I would have to wait until the 'big title match' to get my hands on him, but that all changed when I found out about Sunday Night Slam this week. I get to get my hands on him sooner. It may not be one-on-one, but it's a start. Spike pauses for a moment as he composes himself. He takes another drink from the glass and places it back down on the table. Spike: I don't know why I've been put with Kelly Red and Draven Dark, and again, I really don't care. My partner, or in this case, partners, really don't affect the way that I perform in a match. You don't believe me? Look at my first title win here in SCCW. I won the tag titles with Y2RR as my partner. Now do you believe me? Well you should. I doubt very much that I will have any contact with either of them before or after the match and that's the way I want it. I'm not in this match to make new friends, I'm in it to win. All I have to say to them is, look at my record here. That's the way I want it to stay. I know I can hold my own end of the match and you two had better do the same. Young Guns Tag Team champions or not, you haven't proved anything to me yet, so why not do it this week. And just so you both know, I have no problems whatsoever with kicking both of your asses as well. Now, onto my opponents. First off, there's Derek Draven. I have to say, I don't know anything about you. You're not even a blip on my radar. You're nothing to me. You're a nobody. I'm sure you will probably try to say something similar to me, but everyone knows that that would just be a lie. Without a doubt you know who I am. You watched me three weeks ago when I pinned Mike Austin, you watched me two weeks ago, when I pinned Extreme Warrior and you watched me last week when I pinned BBK. I know that you've heard of all of those names as well, and I know that you know how big those names were. You could only dream of beating them, and then there's me, I beat them in consecutive weeks. Face it kid, you're out of your league here. Go and stand in the corner and let the grown ups fight it out. Then there is Sean "The Griffin" Johnson. You had a big chance last week didn't you. You could've left Sunday Night Slam as the new Young Guns Champion. But you didn't. You couldn't get the job done. Admittedly, you did have to try to beat Jason Steele and I'll give him his dues, he is an SCCW veteran after all. But this week Sean, you're going to come up short again against another SCCW veteran. I don't care about your past and all the other companies you've worked for and the titles you've held there so don't waste your breath by bragging about it. This is SCCW, all that matters here is what you've achieved in SCCW, and for you, that's not very much. You seem to be struggling to get out of the starting block don't you. You might have great potential, but the operative word there is 'might'. You don't at the moment. This week, you're in for another loss, don't get disheartened by it though, it happens to most of us at one time or another, it just seems to be more frequent for you. Finally, Angelo 'Ragin' Rivera. What can I say about you really? Do you remember a few weeks back when Craig James interviewed me? Let me be a bit more specific, when he did a bit of word association with me? Well, your name came up, and do you remember what I said about you? I said you could be 'the next big thing'. But that was when you were over on Friday Night Firefight. That was when you were a big fish in a little pond. But now, you're on Sunday Night Slam, the place to be, the fiercest competition around. Don't get me wrong you're still a 'big fish' but you're not in a pond anymore, you're in the Atlantic Ocean. Face it Angelo, you're out of your depth here. You don't want to be messing around with me, ask around, very few people have done it and walked away from it. I thought you were going to be the guy who kept a level head and got to the top by earning his way. I guess I was wrong. You did earn your way through winning last week, but a man who attacks another from behind with a steel chair and then busts them wide open with a steel chain, doesn't deserve to compete for the Provincial Heavyweight title. This week isn't about a six person tag team match, it's about me and you. The others, they're just there to make up the numbers. I know it, you know it and hell, even they probably know it. Let them do what they want this week, I want to fight you Angelo. I've done my homework on you Rivera, I know that your still walking around here with an unblemished record. I know that in your mind, you're on top of the world right now, flying above all others. But I want to be the man who brings you crashing back down to Earth. That's all in your mind, but in everyone elses, your not as untouchable as you think you are. I'm going to show you that this week. You're yet to taste the bitterness of defeat in SCCW, but I'll let you get a real good taste this week. Spike trails off as he hears someone calling his name from upstairs. Sarah: Sean! Sean! She always called him by his real name, she never did like his ring name. Spike stands up and starts to walk over to the bottom of the staircase. He looks up to see his sister standing at the top of the stairs, a towel wrapped around here hair. Sarah: Where's your hairdryer? Spike: I don't have one. Sarah: What?! How can you have longer hair than me and not own a hair dyer? Spike: I don't know, I just don't Sarah: Typical men. I don't know why you insist on having such long hair now anyway. I know what you're going to say, it's 'the wrestling image', but it looks awful. Spike just looks up at her blankly, knowing not to start an argument with her. Years of growing up with her has taught him that. She sighs loudly and turns around to storm off across the landing. Spike looks in the mirror on the wall in the hallway and smirks to himself. Spike: Picking a fight over little things. Must be that time of the month again. Sarah: What was that! Spike: Nothing, just talking to myself. The scene fades to black as Spike walks back down the hallway and towards the kitchen. |
