"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." the match to steal the show?! The scene opens up to a shot of a fairly large living area. There is a big open fireplace with bits of charred wood lying in the hearth where it had been used and left to burn out on it's own. The walls are painted are white and there are numerous plaques and trophies around the room. Against the one wall is a cabinet with replica title belts in it. The most prominent of which are the replica title belts from SCCW that are given to the champion when he attains one of them. All of the belts have Spike's name engraved on the name plaque. Next to each belt is a newspaper clipping or picture taken from the day of the win. He stands there looking at one of the belts in particular, the SCCW tag team title. Next to the belt is a photo of himself and Wolf celebrating the title win of Murderous Intent. The camera pans out a little to see that he is holding a cell phone to his ear. He turns away from the cabinet and paces anxiously around the room, waiting for an answer. Spike: Damn it! Wolf pick up the phone. Spike paces around impatiently for a few more seconds and then the answer message on Wolf's cell phone starts to play. After the 'beep' Spike starts to talk. Spike: Hi Wolf, it's Spike, if you're there, pick up. You took off after Slams before I could talk to you. I thought you were supposed to be in prison, what's going on? Anyway, thanks for the help last week, what other tag team partner would run in for the save when he's been convicted of murder? Call me back when you get this. Bye. Spike hangs up the phone and tosses it onto the leather couch that is in the middle of the room. He walks back over to the cabinet and looks at the Lethal title belt. He starts to speak but doesn't take his eyes off the belt. Spike: It looks like no-one else will be getting their hands on this title now. It seems that the title has now been, retired, so to speak. I guess they figured that no-one would be able to take the title from me. It doesn't matter to me now though, I have bigger things in my sights. Last week, I did what Extreme Warrior never believed I could do, I beat him. I beat him fairly and he's got no-one to blame for the loss other than himself. So, you all know what that means, I go on to next week to face the other semi-finalist to fight for the most sought after prize in our company, the Provincial Heavyweight title. Regardless of what happens this week, I will still get that match, so the only words I have for the three hopefuls are this. Get ready, It's going to be a war. Spike turns around from the cabinet and walks over to fireplace. He stands with his back to it and faces the camera as he begins to speak again. I suppose everyone is wondering just what the hell happened in my match last week after the final bell rang. Well, as I expected, that low life son-of-a-bitch, Extreme Warrior and his newly acquired friend Joe Raper, decided to do what they do best, attack in numbers. That was expected, and after a match as grueling as that one, they both knew I had no chance to fight back. The rest of the night is pretty much as blur now, so I had to watch the tape back to see what happened. We all saw it, the familiar five second countdown, the pyro and then the unexpected happened. Wolf made a return and saved me from team NWA. So far, I've had at least twenty people ask me about that and it only happened a few days ago, so I'll answer all of them at once. I don't know what happened, I wasn't expecting it and neither was anyone else. I'm as dumbfounded as everyone else. But all I can say is that if Wolf is back and on the side of SCCW, team NWA had better run for cover because we're going to make a High Impact. Spike sits down on the leather couch which is bathed in the beams of sunlight pouring through the panes of glass in the window. He makes himself comfortable and starts to speak again. Spike: So this week I have to step into the ring with Extreme Warrior, AGAIN. Is anyone else sick of seeing him not be able to beat me yet? Last week I proved that through all his bravado and underneath his impressive win loss record, he's just like everyone else. He has his strengths, but he also has his weaknesses. I want him to think carefully this week about what he says to me, about how he's always been getting the best of me and I want him to think about what it was like to be flat out on his back, staring at the lights after losing to me. Don't feel too bad Warrior, there are a lot of people that have done that, BBK included. It's not the end of the world for you, yet. You see, last week I took the first step to oppose team NWA and I've got a feeling that it didn't sit too well with any of you. I told you that I was sick of seeing you run roughshod over the SCCW roster so I did something about it. I put a stop to it last week. I showed you that while you might 'take over' other companies with your ambush tactics and outnumbering, you can't have SCCW. You can't have the Provincial Heavyweight title. Win or lose next week, I'll be happy, knowing that I was the reason that team NWA didn't get their grubby little hands on the belt. I know it's eating at you Warrior, you STILL haven't been able to beat me, and I know you're dying to now. But the more you want it, the more it's bound to elude you, the more it'll eat away at you. If you want to beat me, then I guess you're just going to have to try a bit harder aren't you. Spike pauses for a moment and thinks carefully before continuing to speak. Spike: Warrior isn't the only one that I'm going to be fighting this week though, there is also Mr. Ego himself to think about. Everyone knows of our history BBK, and this week will only add fuel to the old flaming rivalry. I think that we have been very evenly matched in the past don't you? I took your tag titles, you took my TV title. It's always been very back and forth between us and I doubt that this week will be any different. I know what you're capable of and I know not to under-estimate you. I see that you've gone up in the world since we last met though, you're the Simcoe County Champion now, congratulations. I'm sure beating Tigerbeast was a very tough job, on second thoughts, screw that, anyone could've done it. I know that you value that title, anyone would, hell I know that for a fact, because I did as well, a long time ago. It's too bad that your friend Felon isn't about anymore, I'd love to see him and remind him of our past as well. Do you remember it BBK, that night was a disaster for you two wasn't it. You losing the TV title to Wolf and Felon losing the Provincial title to me, and then to top it all off, the Regime ended and you both disappeared. Now that's what you call having a bad day. I don't know what you did in your time off but I hope you rested up well. I hope you got rid of all your ailments and anything else that could hold you back from being one hundred percent. You see, I'm on the top of my game at the moment, the prime of my career, which I'll prove next week when I walk out the new Provincial Heavyweight Champion. I'm injury free and ready to go, so I truly hope that you are the same BBK. I want you to be at your very best so that I can beat you with you knowing the fact that you couldn't get the job done when your were at your peak, just like Extreme Warrior felt last week. Can you feel yourself falling from grace? Do you know that when it comes down to it, when we both go full out for the win, I'm just going to be that bit better. You know it's happened before and you know full well that it's damn sure going to happen again. Spike reaches over for a remote control from a small coffee table in front of the couch and points it towards the television screen mounted on the wall in the corner. He flicks it on to the news channel and starts to watch it for a few seconds, taking in the main news headlines of the day, before returning his attention to the camera. Spike: I know that this has probably seemed like a rant, but in truth, I just want to make sure you guys are ready for this week. You see next week, you might both be in matches, but they won't be anywhere near as important as mine. You two may as well face it, you're both a warm up match for me. So if you two want to be noticed, try to stop me. Spike looks away from the camera as it slowly zooms away from him and slowly fades to black. |
