Sloppy Joe, Mr. E, Mike Austin |
"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." the odd couple?! The scene opens up with a shot of Spike walking up a large building. He is his usual denim jeans and a white t-shirt, with his hair down and a black leather jacket hanging in his hand. The sun is glaring down on the hot summer afternoon. Spike walks up the front steps of the building and up to the front door. He opens the large oak double doors and enters, looking around the large reception area. He hears a familiar voice call his name and looks over to his left to see Craig James beckoning him. He walks over to him and the two men shake hands. Craig James: Hi Spike, how are you doing? We've got a room in here to do the interview in. Please, come in a sit down. Spike enters the room and sits down in a comfortable chair and Craig joins him. The room is set up for the usual type of interview, the lights, the cameras, all the usuals. Spike: I bet you must be getting pretty sick of interviewing us for this match? Craig James: No chance of that. A match this big needs a good build up and who better to do it than me? Spike: I couldn't have said it better myself. Where do you want to start? Craig James: I was thinking about getting straight into it today. So, Sloppy Joe has had many kind words to say about you this past week, what are your feelings about that? Spike: Well, a lot of people know about mine and Sloppys past and to be honest, that's a good thing. We have something that can be quite rare in a business as competitive as ours, mutual respect. It's been said time and time again, but after our last lot of encounters, we both realised that we were causing each other to elevate ourselves. I managed to capture the Simcoe County title from him and he went on to win the Provincial Title, so we both benefited greatly from it. That's the reason why we have so much respect for each other, so when it comes to me and Sloppy, we both know where we stand. I know he's said this earlier this week, but I think it needs re-iterating. If I ever have a problem with people, I'll get right in their face and say it to them. Sloppy knows that and he's the same, maybe that's why we get on so well. Who knows? Craig James: You two are definitely going to make a formidable team. I guess that brings us to Mike Austin. He's been thrown in the mix from out of nowhere. What are your feelings towards him? Spike: Well, nearly everyone knows that I lost the Provincial title to Mike, and it should be noted that that match was one of the toughest of my career. He's a tremendous athlete and he a force to be reckoned with. Not even he seems to know why he's in the match, I guess Gunns is the only one who really knows why. The fact of the matter is that it doesn't really matter why. If I was booked in a match against Jace Steele next week, I wouldn't be asking why, I'd just get on with it. That's what Mike's doing, getting on with. He's not bitching or complaining, so for that I respect him. He knows that at some point, hopefully some point soon, I'll be coming back for the title and the last match will be nothing compared to the re-match. At the moment though, he's doing what he needs to do, he may not want to do it, but he's prepared to go toe-to-toe with me or Sloppy if he has to. And right now, I want him to know that the feelings mutual. Craig James: A re-match should definitely be on the cards, that match alone would be worth the entrance fee. the final man in the match this week, Mr. E. He has certainly been a thorn in your side lately hasn't he? Spike: You can say that again. This guy is just plain annoying. He must know that when I eventually get my hands on him, he'll regret ever screwing with me. He should ask around and see what happens to people who screw with me. It won't end well for him. He's going to find himself in a world of trouble this week. Sloppy and Mike aren't really out for anything from this match, but I am, I'm out for Mr. E's blood. I doubt that if they see me tearing him limb from limb that they'd try to stop me, because to be honest, I really don't think either of them could give three shits about him. In fact, they'll probably pull up a seat and enjoy the show. But in all seriousness, I will catch up to him sooner or later, I'm planning on sooner, and when I do, it'll be the last anyone will ever see of Mr.E. Craig James: Any guesses as to who might be the man under the mask? Spike: Well, I've got a few theories. The way he ended the match last week against Willy looked very familiar to me. And knowing that he used to be a Simcoe County Champion really narrows it down. Believe me when I say though, that soon everyone will know who he is. 'Cause I'm planning on taking that mask off his head and shoving it where the sun don't shine. Craig James: Finally, a little word association to finish. Spike: These never end well. But go ahead anyway. Craig James: Okay. Seeing as he's just come back, BBK. Spike: A good talent but a real asshole. Craig James: Roz-Blayze Spike: He's on fire at the moment and destined for greatness. Craig James: Jason Steele Spike: The real deal. Trust me on that, we've fought before. Craig James: Finally, a little Friday Night Firefight to end with, a man who's caught my eye at least, Angelo Rivera Spike: On his way to the top. If you'll excuse the phrase 'The Next Big Thing' Craig James: Well thank you for the interview and good luck this week. The two men shake hands again as the cameras stop rolling. Spike stands up and stretches. Spike: I'm hungry now, do you fancy getting something to eat, the whole crew, not just me and you. James laughs and agrees. Craig James: Anywhere in particular? Spike: I'm in the mood for some BBQ food. I know this great place, you might know it. Spike and Craig share a knowing look as they wait for the camera crew to pack up their equipment. The two men engage in the usual type of chit-chat as the scene fades to black. |
