"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." a walk on the wild side The scene opens up with a shot of Spike walking groggily through the halls of the SCCW arena, moments after one of the biggest matches of his career. There is a small trail of blood seeping down the side of his head and his eyes are seemingly glazed over. He hears someone calling his name and turns around to see Craig James and a camera crew in pursuit. Craig: Spike! Spike! Can I get a few words from you please. Spike: Sure, I suppose so. What do you want to ask me? Craig: Well, first off, I'd like to say that that was a hell of a match out there tonight, it could've gone either way, but in the end, it was a draw. Any thoughts on that match? Spike: Any thoughts? What type of a question is that, of course I have thoughts on that. All week long me and Devin both talked a big game about who was better and who was going to win, and we both backed up what we said one hundred percent. I can't fault Devin, he gave me everything he had, but it wasn't enough, and on the other hand, I couldn't finish him off either. I've waited nearly 10 months for that match, to see if I was finally going to do the one thing that had always eluded me, defeat Devin Hawk. After what, about twenty minutes, half an hour, we still couldn't find out who was the best. Devin, someday, we will meet again and it will be settled, but for now, I guess we'll just have to leave this as unfinished business. Craig: I agree with you on that Spike, there should definitely be a re-match and one day, I'm sure it will happen. I'm sure it was a shock to you as well, but do you know anymore details about the arrest of Wolf? Spike: It was as much of a surprise to me as it was anyone else. I didn't know much about his past or about the murders until everyone else did, I'm not even sure if he remembered them until the other week. Now that he's been arrested, there's not much to say. Hopefully, one day he can make a return, but for now, it's not looking likely, he is behind bars after all. Craig: I suppose that's true. Now I know that it will be a touchy subject, but I have to ask about Wildman Willy. Spike answers before a real question is asked, interrupting Craig. Spike: What is there to ask. For the third week in a row, I got attacked after my match. What is it with people these days, is no-one man enough to address issues with me face-to-face? People like Devin and Mike may be the scum of the earth but at least they have the decency and mutual respect to say anything they have to say to your face and not take cheap shots from behind. First it was Rage, then it was this guy dressed in black and wearing a mask. Everyone knows that I am looking for this guy and soon enough, I will find him and I will find out who he is and extract my revenge on him. That brings me to the latest attack, by Willy himself. He blindsides me after a brutal match with Devin Hawk and now he probably thinks that he's got my number and will have me beat without any worries. What is it with these psychopaths these days? Craig: It was announced earlier this week that you would be facing him in a non-title match next week on Slam and if he wins then he would get a Lethal title shot, are you ready for his challenge? Spike: Of course I'm ready for it. I knew while I was preparing for Devin that Wildman Willy would be the next match for me, so in the back of my mind, I was already getting ready for it. It seems as though he's mentally prepared for it as well. I mean any guy that takes a blade to his own forehead is either ready for a fight or a mental retard, I'm not quite sure which one he is yet. Either way, he'll be in for the beating of his life this week. He attacked me after my match and now he will suffer the consequences. This is going to stand as a warning, no more like a message to the masked guy. No-one attacks me and gets away with it. Craig: Thank you Spike, once again, even though a winner wasn't decided, congratulations on the match tonight, it was one hell of a fight. Spike nods in appreciation for the comment and shakes hands with Craig. He turns around and heads for his locker room, still feeling for the cut on the side of his head. The scene fades on Spike walking down the corridor. The scene re-opens with a shot of the parking lot. There is only one car left on the car park now and it is a black Ford Mustang. The moonlight is casting eerie shadows over the car and it's surroundings. The nearest street light is out so the moon is the only light in the area. The camera zooms in on the car and re-focuses inside, looking side ways at Spike, sitting behind the steering wheel. The radio is playing a CD from Papa Roach. As the song that is playing starts to end, Spike turns around slowly to face the camera. He begins to speak slowly and calmly. Spike: Earlier today, I was interviewed by someone about various things, and one of the things he mentioned was my match with Wildman Willy this week. It was inevitable that he was going to ask, it is his job after all, but I think that I had to be restrained with my words. It was an interview that could be aired to children after all. Now though, it's different, the only people that see this are the ones that either want to or need to, and I know that that is including you Willy. Last week, you had the audacity to attack me and then you cut yourself with a knife and smeared me with your blood. I get it, really I do. It was all symbolic wasn't it. I'm sorry was that word too big for you to understand? Let me dumb it down for you. The thing you did actually meant something, it wasn't just random. You're trying to prove that you're "Lethal" aren't you? The blood, the attack, it all adds up. There's only one problem that I can see. The match we have isn't under Lethal rules. So here's what I propose. To truly earn a title shot, you need to beat me under Lethal circumstances, so, no count outs and no disqualifications. What do you say to that Willy? I know that you don't think I can spill your blood, you made that clear last week, so this week you've made it somewhat of a challenge to me. I wouldn't have thought twice about ending the match at any moment, but now, this match won't come to an end until you've tasted your own blood. You want to get Lethal 'Wildman', then I'm going to show you what getting Lethal is all about. You're in for the beating of a lifetime Willy. It might not have been as bad as I am planning it to be now, but the attack really sealed your fate. This match won't be a technical wrestling classic, we all know that, it'll be a fight. I doubt there will be many arm bars or headlocks, but that sits just fine with me. I've proved myself not only in a 'wrestling' match but in a straight out fight as well. Anything you've got for me, prepare to get given back ten fold. Get ready Willy, the fights coming... Spike trails off and turns back to face the front of the car, starting the engine. The scene fades slowly to black as the car pulls out of the car park. |
