Dumpster match for Lethal Title |
NBK, Tigerbeast |
"In every competition since the dawning of time, some have always excelled. They exceed expectations and bypass the competition, leaving the weak in their wake. These men take what they want, when they want to and back down from no-one." the chance of A LIFETIME... The scene opens to a quite neighborhood, somewhere just outside the busy suburbs of the closest town. The camera focuses on one house in particular. It's a stereotypical estate, small porch, white picket fence, the whole nine yards. In the driveway is a black Ford Mustang. The drivers door opens and Spike steps out of the car. He is wearing blue denim jeans and a white t-short sporting a Seether print on it. His unruly hair is down and blowing in the gentle summer breeze that is encasing the garden. The camera goes up to the house and round the side, through the surrounding garden and round to the back of the house. In the back garden, there's a small child playing on a makeshift swing set hanging from a large tree branch. Sitting on a small bench looking on at the child is a woman with long brown hair and delicate features. She hears someone call her name and she looks over to the side gate to see her brother Spike walking through it. She gets up from the bench and walks over to him. Spike puts down a plastic bag as she approaches him. Both are wearing a big smile and embrace each other. After a short hug, the let each other go and Spike begins to talk. Spike: Hi Sarah, how are you? Sarah: I'm fine Sean, how are you? Sarah never did like Spike's ring name so she always calls him by his real name. Sarah: It's been too long since I last saw you. Spike: I'm good. I know it has, that's why I came out here. How are Mom and Dad, I haven't spoken to them in a while either? Sarah: They're okay. They've sold the house now and they're moving in the next couple of days. Spike: It's about time, that place has been on the market for ages. It's a shame to see them sell that place, but I suppose it's too big for them to manage on their own now. They'll be better off living somewhere quieter. I'll have to go and see them soon, or call them at least. Where's Kelly? Sarah points over to the makeshift swing set and carries on talking. Sarah: She's over there. Hang on, I'll call her over. Kelly! Uncle Sean has come to see us! Come say hi. The girl jumps down off the swing set and starts running over to Spike. Spike gets down on one knee and hugs her as she gets to him. He reaches for the plastic bag and pulls out a small stuffed animal. He gives it to Kelly and commences with the usual pleasantries that an Uncle shares with his niece. After a few minutes of catching up and general talk, Kelly goes back over to the swing set and Sarah and Spike go inside. They go in through the back door and into the kitchen. Sarah goes over to the fridge and pulls out two cans. She hands one to Spike and he opens it, sitting down at the round table in the middle of the kitchen. Sarah closes the fridge door and walks over to join him. She sits down at the table with him and starts to speak. Sarah: Any other business while your in town then? Spike: Actually, yes there is. I've got a radio interview later this week so I thought I'd come down a few days early and see you and Kelly before I went to it. Sarah: A radio interview? I take it you've got a big match coming up then. Spike: You know me too well. You could say that. It's for the Lethal title. Sarah: Lethal Title? Is that a new one, I don't remember that one. Spike: It used to be the X-Title, but it got re-named. Sarah: So does that mean that it's going to be one of those special matches? Spike: Yeah. It's actually a three way match. The only way to win it is to lock both your opponents in a dumpster. I know what your going to say, it will be dangerous and I might get hurt, but that's all part of the job. Sarah: Looks like you know me too well as well. You know we all worry, we can't help it, it's what family do. Spike: I know, but you have to remember that I know what I'm doing out there and I I'll be fine. Sarah: Who are your opponents in it? Spike: There's the champion, NBK and then there is a guy called Tigerbeast. Sarah: Hmmm, never heard of the NBK guy but didn't Tigerbeast used to team up with Wolf. Spike: Well, NBK is new to SCCW, but he's one not to underestimate, he's undefeated. And yeah, Tigerbeast did, they were called The Vendetta. He can't be that good though, they never won the tag titles, not like me and Wolf did. I'm sure he'll be quick to bring Wolf into this one. Spike, who knows his sister doesn't approve of his career choice, changes the subject and the two catch up on recent family events and such. After a while, Spike finishes his drink and stands up. Spike: I'm going to take a walk around to Mom and Dads house, you know, reminisce one last time before they move out. I'll come back here after and I'll take you and Kelly out to dinner, my treat. Sarah: Okay, see you in a bit then. Spike stands up and walks out the back door, waving to Kelly as he goes. He walks back out the gate and down the driveway. The scene fades on Spike walking off down the road. The scene re-opens with Spike standing on the front porch of his parents house. The driveway is empty, meaning that they weren't in, probably preparing things in the new house. He reaches up to the top of the doorframe and finds the spare key. He opens the door and walks inside. The walls are practically bare, boxes cluttering up any free space on the floor. He looks around downstairs for a while before making his way upstairs. He goes across the landing towards his old room, and to his surprise, the room is still untouched. He walks in and looks around at the walls, still plastered with photos and posters of his youth. Most of them are wrestling posters, showing the people who he idolized when growing up and watching wrestling, Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Bret Hart and early pictures of Shawn Michaels. He sits down on the bed and leans back against the wall, looking directly at the camera. Spike: A lot of people claim that they grow up watching wrestling, always wanting to be a professional wrestler when they are older. But how many do you think are actually telling the truth about that, and how many do you think embellish on it? I can say, in all honesty, that being a professional wrestler is all I have ever wanted to do. I did what few actually manage to do, I had a dream as a youth and now, I am living it. I've been a World Champion, I've been a tag team champion, hell I've done it all, and then, then I came to SCCW. It was quite a long time ago now, I was one of the first, the originals and I'm still here. It may only be a regional federation, but the titles mean so much more than being labeled one of many World champions. Look at my track record here, it's unmatchable, I've done it all, nearly. There is one thing that I am still yet to do, and that is win the Lethal title. Everyone knows that it is inevitable. When I set my mind on doing something, I do it. This week will be no exception. It won't be easy to do, but I will do it. NBK, you are without a doubt, destined for greatness here, no-one will disagree with that. You're boasting an impressive start, aren't you? A 3-0 record and a championship, pretty damn good if you ask me. It's too bad that all that will come crashing down this week at Revolutions. You see, I aim on being the first man to hold all major title in SCCW, and you're holding the only title that I need to complete that. You're going to give me what may prove to be the fight of my life this week, but I don't care. I'll take anything you've got to throw at me and throw it back at you ten fold. I know that you're not someone to underestimate, and you should know that about me as well. If you don't realise that, then this match will end quicker than you'd want it to. You are on a roll as of late, but that doesn't intimidate me or scare me. I've faced bigger and badder than you before and come out on top. I want you to do me a favour this week NBK. I want you to show me which one you are. Are you one of these punk ass kids that comes into a new place then cowers at the first real challenge, or are you one of these people that will you step up to the plate and give it everything you've got, win or lose? It'd be a real shame if you were one of the first ones, 'cause I'm really looking forward to crushing your dream of being one of the greats. Spike stands up and looks out of the window. He starts to speak while still gazing out at the back garden. Tigerbeast, what can I say about you really? Just when the thought crosses my mind to write you off in this match, I start to remember about you. You were an X-Title champion, and a good one at that, and you have earned you chance at regaining the title. But then I also remember about your tag team endeavors. You couldn't hold up your end of the team and you held Wolf back. Don't try to deny it, you know I'm right. Look at what happened as soon as he teamed with someone who could hold their own, we won the tag titles. Where is Wolf now, now that he dropped your dead weight, he's the TV champion and he's going to win the Provincial Title later this week. Doesn't that make you feel guilty? If you hadn't disappeared for a while then you'd still be holding him down, so you feel about yourself. The stipulation on this match is very fitting. To win this match, I'm going to have to put you where you belong, in a dumpster, along with the rest of the garbage. Spike turns around and looks directly at the camera as he continues speaking. To my recollection, I haven't competed in any type of match in SCCW that has been no disqualification. This week, will be the first time that SCCW fans and roster will see me get extreme. I've been in some pretty brutal matches before so this won't be the first time. NBK, Tigerbeast, if I were you, then I'd be looking out there in every federation possible until you find some tapes of my matches, or even one of my past opponents to find out exactly what I am capable of when the usual rules are taken away. I'm going to prove to the world why I am the True Franchise, when I win the Lethal title this week and become the first Grand Slam champion. Spike reaches forward and shuts the bedroom door as the scene slowly fades to black. |
