Provincial Heavyweight Championship

Not this time...

The scene opens up with a shot of Spike walking through the hallways of the SCCW arena, moments after losing to Attitude Adjustment.  He is still dressed in his usual ring attire and he starts to un-tape his fists.  He turns a corner and walks up to a door with a sign on it.  The sign reads 'High Impact'.  Spike opens the door and enters the room.  He sees Wolf pacing back and forth, angry after losing the match.  Spike stops in the doorway and Wolf looks up.  Wolf stops pacing and starts to talk to Spike.

Wolf: We should've won this.  We should have the tag team titles back within our reach.  What happened?

Spike: I'm not going to try to say that it wasn't my fault, 'cause it was.  I dropped the ball this week and I'm sorry.  You're right, we should've won and we should be going into next week with a title shot, but we aren't.  I don't know what happened, maybe I wasn't focused enough, maybe I just wasn't ready this week, but it won't happen again.  

After a few moments of awkward silence, Wolf's expression lightens slightly and he replies to Spike.  

Wolf: I know it won't.  I'm just pissed off that I couldn't give Mike Austin the beating that he deserves.

Spike: Don't worry about it, there'll be plenty of time for you to kick his teeth in, but until then, I get first go at him.  It's not the match I wanted next week, but I'm still going kick his ass.  I'll leave some of him for you though, I know that your far from finished with him.

Wolf nods in agreement with Spike and then turns around to pick up his bags.  

Wolf: I'm going to take off now, I need to calm down and just forget about tonight.  I'll call you in the morning, okay?

Spike: Yeah, that's fine.  I'll talk to you tomorrow then.

The two men shake hands and Wolf heads out of the door.  Spike walks over to a steel folding chair and sits down looking towards his locker.  Inside the locker is his Provincial title belt, looking out at him.  After a few moments Spike begins to talk, more to himself than anyone in particular.

Spike: So the first defense is set.  It's going to be me against Mike Austin.  No doubt it'll be a good match, but I already know the outcome.  I know I say it all the time, but this time is different, it always is when it comes to the Provincial title.  Mike might have got a win over me in the tag match, but it wasn't a one-on-one win, that he has never done.  On Slam, I'm going to have to show him that it's something he will never do.  The tag team titles are important to me and I will be the champion again someday, but now, my attention has returned to the most important prize in our game.  I climbed the mountain and got to the top, and I'm not going to let a punk ass bitch like Mike Austin take it all away from me.

Spike sits back in his seat and stops talking.  The scene fades on him sitting there looking on at his title belt.  The scene re-opens with Spike sitting on a small wooden bench on the porch outside his house.  Spike looks directly at the camera and begins to speak.

Spike: It's funny isn't it, how people react to threats to them.  Some sit idly by and do nothing about it, some try to resist but get swept away in the process and some stand up to them and fight them back.  I've always considered myself to be the type that stands up to them and faces them head on.  I'm not the type to back away from a challenge and I won't step down when threatened.  I'm facing a threat now, a threat to my title reign.  Mike, you're right, I haven't had much luck when it comes to title defenses in the past but now, now the stakes have been raised.  This match is one of high importance, not just to me, but to you as well.  You get a shot at being the guy that everyone wants to be.  At the moment, it's me, I'm the one that everyone is aspiring to be, just hoping to be half as good as I am.  Unfortunately for you Mike, that's where it ends for you, you being half as good as I am.  I fell sorry for you in a way, I don't really want to embarrass you in front of everyone by beating you as easily as I could, so I might give you a fighting chance.  ON second thought, I'm just going to beat you like the bitch you are.

You are just another obstacle in my way Mike, and you know what I do to obstacles, I tear them down.  That's what I'm going to do to you Mike, tear you apart.  You're not in my league, you never were and you never will be, you're below me.  What are you going to do without Extreme Warrior watching your back now and carrying you around?  Me and Wolf are equals, we can both take care of our own business, but you, you're obviously the weak link of your team.  You might've pinned me last week, but could you have done it without Extreme Warrior being there?  Can you do it when it's just you and me?  I don't think you can Mike, and deep down, I think you know I'm right.  You're probably on top of the world at the moment, riding a high after pinning me, but it won't last.  I'm going to give you the reality check you are in dire need of this week.  It won't be pretty Mike, but I can guarantee that when all is said and done, I'll be the one with my hand raised in victory and you'll be the one gazing at the lights wondering where it all went wrong.  But let me save you some trouble and answer that question for you now.  It all went wrong when you thought that you had what it took to get in the ring with me and walk away from it the winner.  It just won't happen Mike, keep dreaming though, 'cause that's the only way that you'll ever get to touch MY title.

Spike pauses for a moment and looks away from the camera.  He then turns back to the camera and starts to speak again.

Spike: There is one more person that I feel deserves to be mentioned at the moment and that's you Devin Hawk.  In my opinion, you were going to be one of the greats, but then you left.  Personal problems or not, you're back at the bottom of the pile.  You say that people like Felon and BBK were ruining our company, well you're too late to do anything about it now, 'cause me and Wolf, we already stopped them.  In case you didn't know Devin, I beat Felon to within an inch of his life and he hasn't been seen since.  I ended his career and I am the top guy in this company now, not him and it's not you.  You're back at the bottom, when you've worked your way back up then come back and talk to me, and we'll take it from there, who knows, maybe we'll even fight for my title, but until then Devin, sit back and watch as I take this company forward and up to new heights.  You might've been the man to beat before, but now it's me, I'm the Franchise around here, deal with it.

Spike continues to stare at the camera until the scene fades to black.
