| finally At the top... The scene opens up with a shot of Spike sitting in a large black leather settee, watching a tape of Ruler of the Ring. The sound has been muted and there is a Drowning Pool CD playing in the background. Just as the tape finishes Spike looks up at the camera and begins to speak. Spike: There is more than one reason why I'm watching this. Of course there is the obvious reason, reliving the crowning moment of my SCCW career. Midnight Felon finally got the reality check that he was in dire need of at Ruler of the Ring when I took what was precious to him. I've got to give credit where credit is due, it was a hell of a match and if he ever manages to drag his sorry ass out of the hospital you can guarantee there will be a re-match. He fought his hardest, hell he refused to tap out but that didn't stop the inevitable. I picked him up and DDT'd him straight down, and that was it. Three seconds later, it was all over for him and he got to see me holding the Provincial title belt high over my head, well until Bond came out and showed him how much of a tight unit the Regime was anyway. I like the way that sounds, the way the Regime WAS. At Ruler of the Ring, I did what I said I would, I put the final nail in the coffin of the Regime after Wolf had started it by beating BBK for the TV title. The Regime is no more and now, it's High Impacts time to rule. Spike turns around to look at the Provincial title belt, mounted on the large oak fireplace, gleaming where the light catches it occasionally. Spike returns his attention to the camera and continues to speak. Spike: But you see, there was another reason why I was watching that tape. On the night, my attention was understandably directed elsewhere, and as such, I missed seeing Attitude Adjustment walking around with the titles that were wrongfully taken from High Impact. I think it's great the way they can walk around in denial. They think that they beat us fairly and that they deserve those titles. But what I seem to remember is Donovan Cage attacking me at ringside and costing us the titles. So when you two guys say that you can beat us cleanly, we're still yet to see that happen. The match is being called 'The match of Champions', maybe even the 'Best of the Best'. I'd have to agree, any match that includes me and Wolf can be called the 'Best of the Best'. Me and Wolf, we are the top level in SCCW, we proved that at Ruler of Ring by ending the Regime and taking the titles that we wanted to take. We're going to do that again very soon. In fact in two weeks, on Sunday Night Slam, we're going to do it again. This week is just a formality really. Attitude Adjustment like to think that they're the best tag team around, but they couldn't be more wrong. When we beat them this week, we'll go on to take back what belongs to High Impact, the tag team titles. Spike stands up and walks over to the television. He switches it off and walks over to the stereo to pick up the remote control for it, He walks back over to the settee and sits down, leaning in the corner of it, looking straight ahead at the large open fireplace in front of him. Spike: When you two won the match a few weeks ago, did you like the feeling that you get when you realised the match was over that you were holding on to an SCCW title? It's good isn't it, well don't get used to it. That feeling is reserved for people like me and Wolf. We are the ones who get the privilege of feeling the adrenaline rushing through our veins when we are named champions, not people like you. In case you didn't know, this title, the latest acquisition, if you will is my fifth title here. Who else can boast the same accomplishments as me? No-one, no-one has done what I have done here and no-one ever will. I am the person that people are aspiring to be, the person that sets the benchmarks for everyone else, I am the Franchise of SCCW. Whether you like it or nor, I am the number one guy in this company and that means that I can take what I want, when I want, and that includes the tag team titles. Mike, you want to talk about luck, what do you call winning the titles through interference? To me, that's just luck. This week, your luck will run out, hell, it'll take an act of God for Attitude Adjustment to walk out with the win. Do you know what happens to people that get in the way of High Impact? Let me tell you. Look at BBK and Felon. We let them run around thinking they owned the place when they were just a mild annoyance to us, but when they really pissed us of, what did we do? We took not one, not two but three championships from them and for all we know, we may never see them again. A few weeks ago, you two were just a mild annoyance, but now, you've pissed us of. Do you want your fates to be the same as Murderous Intent? Do you really think that you can go head-to-head with us and not be knocked flat down on your backs? If you do then you are seriously delusional. Without a doubt, you're both going to talk about how it doesn't matter who pins who in this match, as long as you win, but let me tell you, you're not really thinking that. You'll both put up a brave front and show unison, but when it comes down to it Mike, would you really stand by and watch your chances of a Provincial Title shot go up in smoke. I don't think you would. You're not the type to be selfless, you're a greedy, manipulative snake and you know I'm right. When it comes down to it, I think you'd sacrifice your partnership with Extreme Warrior to get to where I am, the top of the pile. Don't worry though Mike, it's a perfectly natural feeling, in fact, I'm sure Extreme Warrior is thinking the exact same thing. You're probably both just as untrustworthy as each other, in fact, it'll be interesting to see just who turns on who first. Spike pauses for a moment to let Extreme Warrior and Mike Austin think over his words before continuing to speak. Spike: Extreme Warrior, you don't strike me as the type of person who would be intimidated by anyone, and that's a good thing. You're headstrong and always confident, but that will inevitably be your downfall. You see that's twice now that I've been in the ring with you and twice that I haven't beaten you. But now, it's not about who pins who, it's about which team is more dominant. Let me tell you, you might have the titles around your waists, but we are still the team to beat. You haven't ever beaten us cleanly, and that won't change. No doubt that you guys have talent, but when it comes down to it, can you honestly look at yourselves and say that you are best, no you can't. But we can. I've proved time and time again that I can overcome the odds and get the job done, and so has Wolf. Between us, we have a track record that is unmatchable by anyone. At one point or another, we've beaten the best and that's the way it'll stay. Every other Provincial Champion has disappeared, Matt's gone, Sloppy's gone, Devin's gone and now Felon's gone. I'm going to break that tradition, I'm not going anywhere, in fact I'm going from strength to strength. I'm not satisfied being the Provincial Champion, you see you've got something that belongs to me, something that was stolen from me and I won't rest until I have it back. I'm no stranger to the tag team titles, hell, I'm the only guy to hold it twice, and let me tell you this right now, the third time will be a charm. It'll make the title win that bit sweeter when I know that we've crushed your dreams of being champions. All the titles in SCCW carry prestige and honor, so you two don't deserve them. Me and Wolf, we've earned them and they belong to us, and before you know it, they'll be back where they belong, around the waist of High Impact. Spikes takes his eyes off the camera as the scene slowly fades to black. |
