Impact Vs. Extreme Warrior and Mike Austin
(For the Tag team titles) |
Extreme Warrior, Mike Austin, Wolf |
| the tag team match everyone's been waiting for... The scene opens up with a shot of a Spike looking up at a wall filled with newspaper clippings and photos in glass frames. His gaze wonders slightly towards the adjacent wall. Against the wall is a large oak trophy case. Inside it are replicas of all of the title belts that Spike has ever held. The most prominent of which are those from his stay in SCCW. He turns back to the other wall and his gaze locks on a certain newspaper article dated November 16th 2003. After reading it he starts to speak. Spike: This Sunday marks a milestone in my career. It will have been exactly 7 months since my debut in SCCW. I'll be the first to admit that my debut didn't got the way I had planned it to. I was supposed to be the winner that night, but Matt Wild took it upon himself to get involved in my business. He put me into obscurity in this company, he exiled me to matches that no-one cared about or that no-one even watched. Look what's happened now, I've come a long way haven't I. Spike walks alongside the wall looking at each picture and article in turn. He gets to the last one and reads the headline out loud. Spike: "High Impact capture tag gold". Not a lot of people can boast about their accomplishments here, but I can. When myself and Wolf won that match, that made me a SCCW champion for the fourth time. Who else can say that? No-one can. I went from being a nobody to being the man with everything in seven months. It wasn't easy, but I did it. I beat Sloppy Joe, I beat Yaron Mor, and now High Impact beat Murderous Intent. None of those matches come easy, but I still did it. No-one can take that away from me, ever. I earned my way in this company, every single step of the way, I proved that I deserve it. And now, now, I get two guys trying to take it away from me. I get two guys trying to take the titles that High Impact deserve. Wolf is a lot like me, I got my first break in the tag team division and then went on from there. The only difference this time is that when we both go on from here, we're still going to have the tag titles with us. These titles, they're ours. Mike, Warrior, if you two think you can take these titles then fell free to try, but I can tell you right now that it just won't happen. Spike pauses a moment as he hears a phone ringing. He turns around and walks over to the door and out into the hallway. He walks over to a small table in the corner and picks up the phone that is on the table. He sits down on the stairs and starts to speak. Spike: Hello. ... Hi Wolf, how's things? ... Glad to hear it, yeah I'm ready for this week, I've got my end covered and I know you have. Mike Austin is going to regret the day he ever pissed you off. Extreme Warrior can be dangerous as well though, we can't discount him. If we underestimate either one of them, even for a second, it could be all over. I know that neither of us want that, so we have to be ready to put everything on the line in this one. ... I know, I can rely on you. I'll be heading out for the arena in about an hour, I'll meet you there and that'll give us plenty if time to talk things over before we go out there. ... I agree, we need to talk about High Impact, some things just aren't right. ... Okay, see you soon. Bye Spike puts the phone down and leans back on the stairs. After a few moments of silence, Spike looks directly at the camera and starts to talk. Spike: Mike Austin, this will be a first for me this week. I've never faced you before and to be honest, you have quite a reputation. When you first arrived here, it was made a big deal of, 'the guy from GCW', 'the guy who stole the title'. To be honest, at the time I thought that you were going to be a challenge and that you must be worth all the hype. Now though, all I think is that you're more trouble than you're worth. The big hype, doesn't mean anything to me. You can brag about the glory days, you can brag about beating Wolf, it's all just talk. Last week, you proved that you can back up what you say, but can you do it again? Can you win the big one this week? I'm not so sure you can. Last week, you beat Wolf, not High Impact. As a team, no-one has beaten High Impact. We're the champions for a reason. Everyone can talk all they want about us not winning if it wasn't for Ryan Vierra but the fact of the matter is that we left with the titles around our waists. We won, and now, we're going to keep winning. Mike, I'm actually looking forward to this week. In just a few short hours, we'll be stepping into the ring. Just like every other match, we'll try to intimidate each other, we'll try to get inside each others heads, and then we'll fight. But the only difference this time is that I think deep down, you already know you've lost. An inexperienced team stepping into the ring with the champs, c'mon Mike, do you seriously think you can win it. Don't get me wrong, you're brave little guys for giving it a try but you know you won't win. What's the problem Mike don't you like being patronised? Get used to it. When we have finished with you this week, you'll go to the place that no-one wants to be, floating in obscurity, never amounting to anything here until one day you just pack up your little wrestling tights and your boots and get the hell out of here. No-one will care Mike, so you may as well do us al a favour and get out now, while you still have some shred of dignity left. Spike stands up and walks back into the room with the pictures on the wall. He walks over to the window and sits down in the bay. He gazes out of the window for a while and then starts to speak again. Spike: That brings me to you Extreme Warrior. You actually had the audacity to say that last week, you would've beaten me. That's damn near laughable. Can you see into the future, can you change the history and see what the outcome would be? No you can't you stupid idiot. How can you say anything like that? If SXP hadn't won the who knows what would've happened. Maybe I'd have won, maybe by some act of God you would've, hell maybe even Ju Chan could've pulled it off. The point is you don't know. If all you have to brag about is that you 'might' have beaten me then there really isn't any point in even talking is there. Warrior, it was a good fight last week, from both me and you but you didn't win. This week, as you've said, it will similar to David Vs Goliath. But this time, we're going to re-write the ending. There won't be any huge upset or fluke or act of God, it'll happen like everyone expects it to. Goliath will know that the fight is his for the taking and will crush David into the ground, leaving him a broken shell of his former self. You want to call yourselves Attitude Adjustment, fine, you're both going to be in for an attitude adjustment of your won this week. You ever expanding egos will be stopped in their tracks when we hand you a defeat. I might not have anticipated the fight you'd put up last week, but this week, I'm ready. I know what you're capable of and I know how to deal with you. That was a nice tape you showed us the other day, but really, what was the point to it? To make it seem like your career has made you worthy of getting in to the same ring as High Impact? How long did it take you to find a match where you won? How long did it take you to find a match that you thought would intimidate us? Let me tell you this now, we don't get intimidated and we don't get worried, especially when it is over two guys like you and Austin. Spike looks back at the camera and speaks again Spike: You know what, I'm tired of all the talk. Let's just finish this once and for all. Spike stands up and grabs his bag from off the floor in the corner of the room. He walks through the door and into the hallway. He opens the front door and walks out through it, closing it behind him. The camera, still focused on the closed door, starts to fade to black. |
