SCCW Cold as Hell | None |
| The scene opens to find Spike and his girlfriend Jane walking out of a car dealership office. Spike has a piece of paper in his one and and a set of car keys in the other. A short, overweight man with thinning hair comes out of the office behind them, shouting one last remark to them. Man: It was a pleasure doing business with you. Enjoy the car, and don't forget, a car bought with Right Choice Motors is exactly that, the Right Choice for you. Spike rolls his eyes at the bad phrase that some corporate bigwig was paid thousands to think up. They carry on walking and turn left just before the entrance gate, towards the collection section. Spike walks over to his newly acquired 1967 Ford Shelby GT 400, and opens the door. He gets in and Jane gets in the passenger side. She sits down and looks around the interior of the car, apparently not impressed. Jane: It's nice. I know it was your money, but how much was it again? Spike: Nice?! This is more than nice, it's spectacular. This is the car I've been dreaming about having since I was a kid...and the price, well, how can you put a price on a boyhood dream, really? Jane: In other words, it was a lot. Spike: Let's just say it was worth the money. Cars like this are classics now. They're not your average run of the mill Fiestas or Corsas, they're practically rare. Spike puts the key in the ignition and turns it. The engine roars to life and Spike puts the car in gear. Jane leans forward and puts on the radio. Spike starts to pull the car out of the parking area and down towards the road. He takes a right onto the main road and pulls straight up at the first set of traffic lights. Jane fiddles with the radio some more and finds a station that she likes. A smile spreads across her face as U2, With or Without You starts to play. She looks over at Spike and asks him a question. Jane: Do you remember this song? Spike: Of course I do, it's U2. Not impressed with his answer she hits him playfully Jane: You know what I mean. Does it bring back any memories? Spike: Of course it does. The first time we ever went out, this song was playing when we pulled up outside your house. Jane: Good to see you still remember. Spike: How could I forget? After a moment of pleasant silence, the lights change and Spike pulls away. Jane sits back in her seat, looking straight ahead. Jane: I still don't see what the big deal is with this car. Spike: Women! You never understand the bond between a man and his car. You know who would appreciate this car? Wolf.. Spike trails off as he remembers the current situation between him and his one time best friend. Jane: You have to remember that he's not the person he once was. He's not the guy who you won the titles with. He's changed. Don't forget that when you're in the ring with him. Spike: I won't. It was a slip of the tongue. I still remember what he did when he came back with Austin, all the things he's said since. Jane: Good. Because you know what he's always said. Wolf can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I guess it's time for the other half of it now. Spike: I guess so. I just don't know where he gets all the crap he's being saying though. I tried to fight his case when he was fired, but what good would it have gotten me? I would've been fired as well, and I couldn't afford for that to happen. I tried to stay in contact with him, but he drifted. He was the one to stop talking, not me. And all that bull shit about me staying for the fame and glory. That's what really pisses me off. I was the champ before he got fired. So all I did was carry on on the path that we had set. Then he goes and says that he was the reason for my success. I got to the top of this company WITH Wolf, not BECAUSE of Wolf. We fought together and rose to the top together. It's not my fault that his run was prematurely ended. If he hadn't left, we'd still be on top, together. Jane: I know it's a sore subject for you, but you have to talk about it. You know he's going to take all the things that happened with you and him and twist them and distort them against you. Spike: I know, and I'm ready to hear all the crap that will come from his mouth. But you know the one thing that pisses me off above all else? The fact that when he came back, he didn't try to make up for being an asshole. He just went and shook hands with the devil himself, Mike Austin. When we we're teaming, we had a mutual hatred for Mike Austin, I still have it, but apparently Wolf doesn't. He just went and joined him without a second thought. The Wolf I knew wouldn't have done that, that's how I know he's changed. Mike's still the same egotistical, repulsive son-of-a-bitch that he always was, so Wolf's the one that's different, not me. When it comes down to it, which it will, when me and him look each other in the eyes, it's going to be all hell breaking loose out there, and it won't end till one of us doesn't get back up. I know it's not what you want to hear Jane, but it's the truth and you know it is. The day is coming when me and him meet face-to-face, and it's coming soon. Jane: What about Mike? He's not going to stand back and just watch you and Wolf fight it out. He'll get involved, and you know it. Spike: Well that's one of the reasons that me and Jay came to an understanding. No-one saw that team coming, no-one expected it. But we both have the same agenda. Maybe not in the long term, but now, at this moment, we both want the same things. Team NWA gone, the egos of this company bought down and respect and dignity bought back to SCCW. I know Jay's got my back on Sunday, and I've got his. As if Jay wasn't enough, I've got the only other man that I trust completely watching my back, Sloppy Joe. I am a little concerned for his health though. It's his first match back after yet another injury and he's facing possibly four of the most dangerous men all at the same time. He needs to be one hundred percent ready for this one. Then there's Dax. I've never even spoken to him, but I know what he's capable of. He'll hold up his end. Jane: But you still have to fight Extreme Warrior and NBK. Spike: I know. My history with them speaks for itself. I've been backwards and forwards with them so many times that I'm starting to lose count. There's no room for bragging between me and them. We all have wins over each other, we've all beaten the hell out of each other at one time or another. Extreme Warrior has been a plague on SCCW since day one. No-one has ever really stood up to him so he thinks he can take whatever he wants from SCCW. That will all change soon. On Sunday four men are standing up to him and everything he represents. I can understand why he's been thrown in a team with Mike and Wolf, 'cause they all want to see the downfall of SCCW, but NBK, that's one I don't understand. NBK is the type of guy who under different circumstances, I could respect fully. He cares about SCCW, he wants it to thrive as much as anyone, so teaming him with those three scumbags confuses me. Me and NBK will never see eye-to-eye, in fact that's the only thing that we'll agree on, ever. But I know what to expect from all four of them. Whether they hate me, or not, whether they are in this for their own vendettas or just tagging on for the ride, I know what they'll all do. I've been in the ring with them enough times to know that. They are all out to get the win, no matter what the cost, so we have to be as well. There is one thing that is completely certain though. This will be the biggest match SCCW has ever seen. The two go silent for a while as Spike turns into their street. Just as Spike pulls up outside their house, the familiar tone of the 'Crazy Frog' can be heard. Jane rolls her eyes at the ridiculous ring tone. Jane: I don't know why you paid for that. It's stupid. Spike: But it's making you smile yet still get on your nerves, that's all it's for really. He looks at the display but the number is unknown. He answers the phone. Spike: Hello? ..... Yeah I'll be ready. ..... I've had major issues with every single one of them in the past, so that won't be a problem. ..... Just remember. Sunday night, Cold As Hell, a lot of people will need to be...FORGIVEN ..... Later Spike hangs up the phone and Jane looks at him. Jane: Let me guess who that was.. Spike: Yeah it was Jay. We need to stay in contact about this match. Jane: I still don't trust him. Look at all the things you've been through with him. Spike: Exactly, and we're both still standing. We are the two men that will bring down all the tyranny in SCCW. We know what we're doing trust us, trust me. Spike leans forward and kisses her. Spike: Anyway, that's enough talk about this Sunday, let's go inside. Spike and Jane both get out of the car and head up the driveway towards the front door as the scene fades to black. |
