BROADWAY’S LINDA EDER, DOUGLAS SILLS AND CARL ANDERSON OFFER A “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” JOURNEY THROUGH MUSICAL THEATRE

Original Stars of Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Jesus Christ Superstar To Launch Concert Series In Florida Broadway Series Kicks Off On November 9th at the Kravis Center in Palm Beach and November 16th at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami

New York, NY --- Performers LINDA EDER, DOUGLAS SILLS and CARL ANDERSON are making their final preparations in New York City before making their way to Florida where they will premiere “Once In A Lifetime,” a new theatrical concert event . The trio will be joined by Composer Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War), who in his role as Musical Director of the Goodwill Games last Summer, gathered the three for a Broadway medley. Eder enjoyed the experience so much, she decided to take it on the road. “Once In A Lifetime” is conceived by Linda Eder with Frank Wildhorn, Douglas Sills and Carl Anderson. The show will play eight performances a week in each city.

Boasting a repertoire that will represent virtually every major composer from Gershwin to Sondheim, “Once In A Lifetime” is an aptly named title for a trio of stars who for the first time will have the opportunity to sing their own personal favorites from “the roles we’ll never get to play” to “duets that we love” to “our favorite songs.”

While the performers expect (and look forward to) the set list changing nightly, the selections may include Linda performing her signature version of “Man of La Mancha,” Douglas performing “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend” and Carl performing “Can’t Help Loving Dat Man.”

Among the many shows represented throughout the evening are West Side Story, Evita, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, Beauty And the Beast, Guys and Dolls and the Wildhorn favorites Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War and the upcoming Havana.

“Once In A Lifetime” marks Linda Eder’s return to the stage following the birth of her first child, Jake Ryan Wildhorn on August 23, 1999. Her fourth solo album, “It’s No Secret Anymore,” was released on Atlantic Records on September 28th. Co-produced by Eder, the album previews songs from her next Broadway show, Havana, written by her husband, Frank Wildhorn. Critically hailed for her recordings and live performances alike, Eder’s vocal abilities are consistently compared to Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand and the like. A recent review in Billboard said, “Tracks from Havana smolder with a Latin ferocity that would surely bring an extra swivel to the hips of Ricky Martin.”

Sharing the stage with Ms Eder will be Douglas Sills, another alumnus of a Wildhorn show, The Scarlet Pimpernel. Nominated for a Tony‚ Award, A Drama Desk and an Outer Critics’ Circle Award for his Broadway debut as the title character of the show, Sills was further honored with the 1998 Theatre World Award. Sills last appeared in Florida in Marsha Norman’s The Secret Garden for which he was honored with that state’s renowned Carbonell Award. He also toured the country starring in Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods and Chess.

Carl Anderson will forever be remembered for the role of Judas, which he has made his own since the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar made it to the screen. Carl has also recorded and produced the smash hit duet, “Friends and Lovers” with guest, Gloria Loring. Anderson was recently seen on Broadway portraying the Duke in Play On! featuring the music of Duke Ellington. He appears on the soundtrack of Wildhorn’s CIVIL WAR- An American Musical alongside Patti LaBelle, Linda Eder, Maya Angelou, BeBe Winans, Dr. John, Hootie & the Blowfish, Travis Tritt, Betty Buckley, James Garner, Danny Glover, Trisha Yearwood and other recording stars from a diversity of musical genres.

Rounding out the company is Tony‚ and Grammy ‚ Award nominated Composer Frank Wildhorn whose special guest appearance will undoubtedly cover the prolific catalogue of songs which scored Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Civil War, his three shows which ran simultaneously on Broadway last season, making Wildhorn the first American Composer in more than twenty years to hold this distinction. He is currently at work with the last Composer to do so, Stephen Schwartz (Godspell and Pippin), as well as many of his other musical heroes on The Romantics a multi-album theatrical project based on the lives of the great romantic couples both throughout history and literature. Among the writers collaborating with Frank are: Maury Yeston (Titanic), David Zippel (City of Angels), Don Black (Sunset Blvd.), Nan Knighton (Saturday Night Fever and The Scarlet Pimpernel) and Leslie Bricusse (Victor/Victoria and Jekyll & Hyde). The project will star Linda Eder and many international recording and theatre stars. Wildhorn is also at work on his next Broadway musical, Havana which will star his wife and muse, Linda Eder. Wildhorn spends office hours as the Creative Director of Atlantic Theatre at Atlantic Records in New York City.

“Once In A Lifetime” is directed by Jerry Mitchell who began his career as a choreographer by serving as Associate to Michael Bennett (Scandal), Bob Avian (Follies/London) and Jerome Robbins (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway). Among others, Mitchell has since choreographed You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, the Off-Broadway production of Hedwig And The Angry Inch, and the Paper Mill Playhouse revival of Follies. On film, Mitchell choreographed “Jeffrey” and the memorable Tango for Al Pacino in “Scent Of A Woman,” as well as Kevin Kline’s coming out dance in “In And Out” and Disney’s upcoming “Geppetto” starring Drew Carey and Julia Louis Dreyfuss. On TV, he continues to choreograph “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.”
