Well, I am writing to you for a personl question and some prace for your web-site. We (my husband and me) have for a long time been looking for serious information (such as how to spank properly, safetly and with best result) but the net is only full of sex sites and wellmeaning (but very theoretical) christian pro-spankingsites. When we found your site and GoSin, we were so happy. Your site is very clear, demonstrative and practical without being petronising to us parents. When there are different solutions to a problem, you present both of them and let the parent decide what is best for his children. We are very happy to have "come home" to your site (...but our four lovely children, 3 girls and 1 boy, are not so happy...)

This is our historuy about it :

I am 48 years old and my wife are 45 ,and we have two children a boy (10 years almost 11 old) and a guirl ( she is 12 , almost 13 years old ) during all our life we had hate the Corporal Punishmet , it is natural , my wife and me was spanked when we were very young , more exactly from 10 years to 14 years old .

At last we toke our children and went to a psicoanalist that speak us during several hours and at end we paid him a lot of money and all it for nothing because if well we follow the advices that he gave us , it had not good results, and after we are like in the first .

From that moment to spend only 14 or 15 days and one day in the morning it was Sundey morning , my wife and me went our for take a walk and we met in the street to who was my wife`s teacher, he is a strong old man ( 77 or 78 years old , he is not working from 65 because from this age he is pensionist .

We start to speak about a lot of things and of course they asked us for our children , and how they are going in their courses etc etc and we had to explain the very big problem that we had with them , the teacher hear us with interest but he did^t say anything .

But in a moment of the talk we ask him if he can see a solution to our problem and what we can do after of try all that it was possible , he saw us and with a very serious face he told us : I know that when i say you that i am going to say you , you will think that i am a teacher of a past century but your are in freedom of believe that you want , and at following act he said this words : ( in my very poor english i try translate his phrase )

I have that you need for to change the behaviour of your children and i will give it to you if you follow my instructions point by point . we was okey and we had think that if it was the solution we would are very happy , he ended saying us that on Monday ( the next day ) he would go to our home at night and he would give us the perfect solution to the problem .

And the Monday arrived and the teacher kept him word and he comes at our home at the last our of the evening ( Children even was not at home ) , we went to the living room and there the old teacher show us a pack , he open the pack and toke out two thin rods , it was a 60 centimeters of long , the rods was hard , and heavy , but very flexible , they can saw in our faces a big shock and before we speak anything about it he said us : I know very well which is your opinion about the corporal punishment because i spanked to his wife when she was a bad guirl , and i can imagine that she don`t have a good remembrance of the age when i had take the rod and after of undressed her bum i had to spank her of a way that your wife must remember very well, a very painfull bum is impossible of forget and your wife know very well the way in that i spanked her bum, when she was a bad guirl , today you both can see the results , she is a good wife and a good mother if well she need to have a few of autority over her children .

My wife`s old teacher finished saying that we don`t feel fear when we must spank hard or very hard that the buttocks are ready for it and that he did it durin all his lifer as teacher and never had any problem .

She was thinking with her face very serious and look at me and say me : Starting here from this same moment we will use the rod in the same way that my old teacher told us our must think that we had try all another way of metods and all it failed , i told her . and if the rod fail also ? she saw me , she had a very sad rictus in her face , and told me : the rod is a way of `punishment that never fail , it is very painful of course but very secure if you don`t change your behaviour with 20 strokes you will do it with 40 and if you don`t change with soft strokes you will need hard or very hard strokes but the rod always win to you and we have`t other way that begin to use it , and we will do it thus from now .

My wife toke the two rods and put it in a corner in the washing room and left it there .

Almost four weeks later , the teacher of our daugther ring us for say that she want to speak us about our guirl , when she arrived at our home , she told us that if we don`t take mesures with her our guirl would follow a very bad way in her life, in her school she was very disobedient and a lot of times she arrived later to her class withour reason and all days to stay near of our guirl was equal that to stay inside of a revolution withour end . We promised that we speak her about her behaviour in her school and that we expect that she would change it .

When this same night our daugther arrived at home , her mother call her and speak about the problem , but the guirl is following the same way of rebelliousness then her mother went to the washing room and taking one of the two rods that the old teacher gave us showed it to the guirl and told her :

THE NEXT TIME THAT YOU DISOBEY TO YOU TEACHERS IN YOUR SCHOOL OR TO US AT HOME YOU WILL BE SPANKED ON YOU BUM WITH THIS ROD , YOU CAN CHOSE WHAT WAY YOU WANT FOR LEARN , OR THE GOOD WAY OR THE BAD WAY , AND I CAN ENSURE TO YOU THAT THE BAD WAY IS VERY VERY PAINFUL .

A few days later , her teacher ring us again and ask us if we can pass for the school this same day , we went in the same moment and there she told us that their patience was ended and they are thinking in spell her , and in the next teachers reunion they will speaking about it .We told her that please say us what is the new problem that they have with our daughter , and she told us that this same morning a police catch her when she was robbing in a shop , it was few , only several compact disc of music , a tobbaco box and two comics , my wife and me are very ashamed , my wife only can said i am sorry but from now all this is finish , let her arrive at home , today it will be a day that she never will forget ! .

We come back home and this same day when our daugher arrived , it was about 8 hours of the evening her mother called her and in the middle of the room she asked a explanation about that her teacher said about the small thiefs that she was doing , the guirl saw to her mother and told her that she was a stupid and that she do that she want and that she (her mother was a bitch`s daugther ) my wife after of hear this toke the guirl with a small tape she proceded to tie her hands in the back and after went to the washing room and brought one of the two rods and taking her daughter put her bent over the table of the living room , undressed her bum and taking again the rod began to spank her , our daugther crying and crying and her tears fall in the floor ,but my wife following with the spanking , she gave her more than 40 strokes and she did it so hard that when she ended there was a few of blood in her buttocks , her mother clean the blood and said to her daughter that the next time it would be worst even , and from this same moment always that she have a bad behaviour she will get a very very painful bum .

After of that painful day our guirl began to change her behaviour but from then even was necessary spank her ( of the same way ) several times before she changed quite her behaviour .

Today our daugther is a very good guirl ,now she never give problems to her teachers at school , she is a model in her class among the another pupils, of course her teachers know very well the kind of treatment that was necessary that her mother gave her ( because we told them ) , but they don`t tell us anithing about it , they only are very happy with the change of our daughter , in the teachers reunion that they had they toke the resolution of don`t expell her of her school because now it was not necessary .

Today we are a happy family without problems with our children , now when the guirl of the boy do a very bad foul , if it is necessary we take the rod and we use it without fear , as my wife`s old teacher said the buttocks are made ready for receive the rod even when it can be necessary give a hard spanking .

I am a sociologist who has researched this particular subject for 11 years. I do agree with spanking. However, parents need to be concious of the degree of humiliation that occurs when bare-bottomed spanking takes place in the presence of others - specifically girls/boys. When I was in elementary school, spanking took place in the front of the classroom wherein boys and girls not only received spankings, but witnessed them as well. Some people advocate humiliating their child by spanking them in the presence of other children as a deterent. There is a great deal of research that shows a large number of people spanked in front of members of the opposite sex develop masochistic and sadistic ideation, as well as alcoholism and drug abuse. I believe that the mere knowing that the others know one received a good spanking is humiliation enough. I would want my child to be a respectful citizen and not a depressed sociophobic. It is also very important to tell your child how much you love them even after they have earned a spanking. Keep up the good work on your site.
 

Hello again. I read your article on "cooperative children" and how they should be empowered with choices to make discipline a learning, interactive experience. It wasn't very long after I read the article that C(...) came in late and lied about her whereabouts, so I was able to recently use the article.

When it was established that my daughter needed a spanking, I told her that at her age, she should be able to decide certain aspects of her disipline. I learned that she prefers to be spanked on the living room sofa, because she felt like a "little girl" being sent to her room. Moreover, she looked at me sheepeshly and said that she would prefer to leave her underwear on for the same reason. Yet there was no room for compromise on this issue. Since her offense was particularily bad, I was very stern with her this time, taking her by the wrist, telling her to "get them down" and instructing her to lay on the sofa. At 5'6, this seemed to be an unweildy position. She agreed to laying in my lap in exchange for a spanking in the living room, and so I obliged by guiding her over my lap and beginning the 5 minute spanking. One point I haven't noticed on your site is the grabbing of her arm behind her back.. is this recommended? Oftentimes, particularily later in the spanking, I grab her arm for stability as slap her bare bottom. In any case, we have a more enriching discipline process by allowing my daughter to chose the location of spanking. Afterwords, she confided that she wants to be spanked harder with less time.... hopefully I will not have to comply, but something tells me that she will be in need of another good spanking soon, at which point I will report back with the results of the harder/shorter spank.

I think your site is absolutely wonderful, and only wish such instruction has been available in my teens. If I have any criticism, it is that maybe under the current coercions of Political Correctness, you sound a bit lenient.

The canings I got at an English boarding school were designed to deter, and weals you could loose a pencil in and bruises lasting a week and more were the accepted norm. However, it was a very cold and military affair, and any concept of love had absolutely nothing to do with it, so resentment and anti social attitudes often got the upper hand. By the time I was 18 I was arguing I was too old for such treatment. This theme of degradation and abuse has taken over in the West, and we have suffered an erruption of delinquency and social decline ever since.

Why our Politicians cannot recognise this obvious connection by now defies reason!

My life went downhill fast, and remained so for some time until I met a senior Mentor who revealed the negative attitudes I had adopted against traditional discipline. It was suggested I submit to the beatings I ran away from, and go through those where my attitude was negative and rebellious. Eventually I complied and within a few weeks of some really sound doses of strap and cane, I had stopped smoking and drinking.

I have wonderd often ever since, how on earth would my life have turned out, how much suffering could I have avoided if I had know the loving kind of firm discipline in a Christian upbringing that you read of in sites such as this?

Life has continued to improve, albeit gradually, ever since this encounter. It has also meant a completely new understand of 'Thy Rod and thy staff to comfort me'.

I'm a 12 year old girl, I read your site. It's good for people who spank 'n all, I never been spanked but only once. Let me tell you my story, then i'll give you my point of view on how I feel about spanking.

When I was 10 I would come home from school each day, watch my favorite show, Pokemon, then do my homework. My mom always helped me with my homework, since I didn't listen in school, and I hated it! My mom is really nice too. Anyhoo She said "When your show gets over, we'll do your homework." as usally I said ok. I sat in her room with her and watched it. When the show ended they have a little music video known as the "Pokerap" wich I loved to hear, it's only 1 min or so. My mom told me to turn the Tv off, I didn't since she said when it's "over" we'll do my homework, and technically it wassnt over. So I kept it on, since my mom and I never go back on our word. Then my dad came in, turned off the tv, and said he'll spank me if I turn it on again. I was surprised, yet mad. I hated my dad, for things he said that hurt me and changed my life, how he treated me, and so on. I sat on the floor and me and my mom did my Homework. I didn't get a problem so I worked it numbers of times and didn't get it. My dad got mad cause I didnt get it, I was trying so hard I broke down crying to myself, knowing this was so hard! My dad told me to try harder, I did really. Then I asked my mom if she would help me, nicely. After hearing that my dad sat on the side of the bed and spanked me over his lap, clothed. I'm sorry I didn't get my point across in the last e-mail. My point is I like Spanking is wrong. It hurts the child inside. It makes children seek revenge to their parents.
