THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Monday September 16, 2002 Vol.88 Hi, hello and welcome fellow Cowboys of the Space variety to this week's edtion of your occasional reading. **** Cowoboys Suck, Fall Again **** The Space Cowboys dropped their third consecutive game last Tuesday in a heartbreaking fifty-seven (57) to fifty-three (53) defeat at the hand of the "thuggy thuggs" of The Jam. Once again the home team failed to bring their "A game" to the "big arena by the highway" and once again they ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard. There where however a couple proverbail bright spots in the loss. Newcomer Lance Schickling appeared to be back in his "old form" with a solid twenty-one (21) point performance. Also breaking out of his shell was James Boyer. Mr. Boyer had the best game of his short Cowboys career, connecting on five (5) of eight (8) shots for an "incredulous" fourteen (14) points. It's a shame none of the other 'boys stepped up their game to aid these two in the battle for the "w". **** Box Score September 10, 2002 **** Name No. Fgm Fga 3ptm 3pta Ftm Fta TP K.Lubbers 10 0 2 0 1 0 0 0 N.Lubbers 23 4 10 1 5 0 0 9 Jeffries 24 1 10 1 8 0 0 3 Ash 30 1 4 1 4 0 0 3 Boyer 33 5 8 4 7 0 1 14 Schickling 34 9 19 3 9 0 0 21 Keene 44 1 2 0 0 1 2 3 Totals 198 21 55 10 34 1 3 53 38% 29% 33% Attendance: 4 (Batsche, Goetz, Moser, Sears) Season Attendance: 49 Special Thanks to Scorekeeper Christina Batsche **** Next Game Tuesday Spetember 17, 2002 **** The space Cowboys will be in action once again today, Tuesday Setember 17 at 8 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. The 'boy will be taking on the "thuggy thuggs" of the Cov Cats in theoir one meeting earlier in the season the 'boys came out victorious sixty-four (63) to fifty-three (53). So come on out to the "big arena by the hihgway" to see our Space Cowboys in action for the final time in this Summer Season of 2002. Don't miss this night of great basketball. **** News and Notes **** Injury Report: Keith Lubbers injured his wrist outside of the Space Cowboys at a soccer game. The latest report on Mr. Lubbers status is that he is a game time decision, but more than likely will just watch from the sidelines....Even with his "stellar" performance James Boyer's woes continue at the free throw line. He failed to connect on the 'and 1" dropping him to 2-8 on the season....Ben Keene made a free throw. That will be all for this edition of the Occasional Orbiter.
