THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Tuesday August 6, 2002 Vol. 82 Hi, hello and welcome fellow Cowboys to this once again late breaking "breif" edition of your occasional reading. **** Space Cowboys Win Again **** The Space Cowboys notched their second win of th season last Tuesday with a sixty-four (64) to fifty-three (53) victory over the "thuggy thuggs" of the Cov Cats. A solid effort was had by all. Lance Schickling, making his third appearance with the 'boys, had a "breakout peformance." Mr. Schickling scored a team high seventeen (17) points, shooting 70% from the field. This is exactly why he was picked up off the waiver wire. Smart move by the Space Cowboys managment. **** Box Score July 30, 2002 **** Name No. Fgm Fga 3ptm 3pta Ftm Fta TP K.Lubbers 10 1 3 1 2 0 0 3 Brinkman 20 2 4 2 4 0 0 6 N.Lubbers 23 4 8 1 5 2 2 11 Jeffries 24 3 8 3 6 0 0 9 Ash 30 4 7 2 4 0 0 10 Schickling 34 7 10 3 5 0 0 17 Keene 44 2 4 0 0 4 7 8 Totals 185 23 44 12 26 6 9 64 52% 46% 67% Attendance: 7 (Batsche, Brinkman, Goetz, Kaylor, Keene, Kidd, Young) Season Attendance: 17 Special Thanks to Scorekeepers Michael Brinkman and Elizabeth Goetz **** Next Game Tuesday August 6, 2002 **** The Space Cowboys will be in action this coming Tuesday, today, August 6th, at 8 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. Doors will open at 7:36 with pregame festivities beginning at approxamatly 7:54. **** Space Cowboys Softball Update **** They lost; again and again and again. If you went to the website looking for updates they are not yet available but will be within the next week. **** Space Cowboys Jersey's **** The O-fficial T-Shirts of the Space Cowboys were ordered this past Thursday. At that time there was no estimate as to the date of their completion. We will do our best to get them to you as soon as they are made available. The fee for the shirts has been figured out to be eleven (11) dollars ($) a piece. And in order to recieve your shirt you must first pay the money. **** Benjamin Young **** We here at the Occasional Orbiter would like to publically apologize to one of our most loyal fans. Mr. Benjamin young has been making the trek out to the "big arena by the highway" for years now, and a few weeks ago he recieved none of that "proverbial love" in the "boxscore". We would just like to make the record straight and announce that Mr. Young was present at the game in question. And for those of you who had doubted his loyalty to the Space Cowboys organization, shame on you. We also would like to thank Mr. Young for all the time he has put in over the years to root on the beloved Space Cowboys. We look forward to seeing you at said "big arena by the highway" for years to come. **** News and Notes Correction **** We would like to make a correction to the News and Notes of the most recent edition of the OCcasional Orbiter. This mistake was so blatant that the copy editor was promptly relieved of his duties. Both Mr. Jeremy Jeffries and Mr. Kevin Brinkman win, and therefore tie. Not the previous statement of Mr. Jeffries winning and Mr. Brinkman tying, that is absolutly absurd. Michael Ash is still fat. That's all. Syyaa.
