THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Hi, hello and welcome to your fabular and spectaculous occasional reading. **** 'Boys Drop Season Finale **** The Space Cowboys finished the Fall Season out Tuesday night with a "heartbreaking" sixty-five (65), fifty-seven (57) loss to the Camel Toed "thuggy thuggs". The home team just couldn't seem to put it all together in this "titanic struggle". Although the game was a close one throughout, the 'boys were never really in it. It seems the pregame "21" took everything out of them, as they were lifeless on the court. The zone defense, which doesn't always work, but gets the job done most the time, was very ineffective against the outside game of the Camel Toes. They just weren't getting any weakside help. On the offensive end things seemed to go as they usually do. No one could really get into a groove. For a moment it looked as if it was going to be Jeremy Jeffries day. He knocked down the first three (3) point field goal he attempted and looked damn good doing it. Other than that one (1) three (3) pointer, there was little offense for the Space Cowboys as they fell to a thirty-four (34) to twenty-four (24) deficit. The second half started out somewhat favorably to the home team. Scott Eible connected on three (3) consecutive three (3) point baskets to close the gap significantly. The "scoring machine" known as Keith Lubbers also contributed with one (1) three (3) point basket of his own. The leading scorer of the game was guard Michael Ash, who fnished the season sizzling. After starting off the season making just five (5) of his first twenty (20) shots (25%) through the 'boys first three games. He finished by shooting twenty-three (23) of fourty-one (41) for a solid fourty-seven (47) percent (%). We here at the Occasional Orbiter would like to congratulate all the Space Cowboys for yet another "unforgettable" season. It was one with it's ups and downs, but overall a very exhilarating season. We look forward to watching the magic we call Space Cowboys basketball once again. **** Box Score November 27th, 2001 **** Name No. Fgm Fga 3ptm 3pta Ftm Fta TP K.Lubbers 10 1 2 1 2 0 0 3 Eibel 11 4 11 3 7 0 0 11 N.Lubbers 23 4 12 1 4 0 0 9 Jeffries 24 3 11 2 7 0 0 8 Ash 30 4 13 3 8 2 3 13 Keene 44 1 5 0 0 2 4 4 Trame 45 2 7 0 1 5 8 9 Totals 187 19 61 10 29 9 12 57 31% 34% 75% Attendance: 3 (Batshe, Keene, Kidd) Season Attendance: 55 Specil Thanks to Scorekeeper Christina Batsche **** Next League Tentativly Set **** The Space Cowboys will be participating in yet another season of basketball of the Sports of All Sorts Arena this winter.
