THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER November 19th, 2001 Vol. 52 Hi, hello and welcome once again to your long lost occasional reminder. The Space Cowboys will be in action tomorrow, Tuesday November 20, at 7 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. The 'boys are coming off of their biggest victory in years and are hoping to build on it. They will need to win their remaining two (2) games to make a run at the playoff, so look for them to be playing with a point to proove. They will show that it was no fluke and the Space Cowboys are a team to be reckoned with. This week they will be taking on the "thugg e. thuggs" of Affordable Overhead. This team is no "pushover". Altough their record is not known, they do have a plethora of talent and will be a tough challenge for the home team. But these fella will not back down and will give everything to ensure a birth in the postseason. The team will have one more weapon for this weeks game in Kevin P. Brinkman. Mr. Brinkman has been called up from the Louisville affiliate Earth Cowboys. He will defintly provide a spark and hopefully lead to Cowboys to a third consecutive victory. We were fortunate enough to recieve a letter from Mr. Howie F. Buddy, the coach of the Earth 'boys, prasing Kevin and the work he has done is Louisville: Dear Editor, I,Howie f. Buddy the coach of the Earth Cowboys, am glad to report that Kevin P. Brinkman is ready to make his debut at the next level. He has only been doing postive things and has brought nothing but positive energy to a group of guys who are pretty down on themselves. He has brought a last place club up the ranks to a second to last place club through leadership on and off the court. He has been hitting the court for extra workouts, hitting the wieght room and especially hitting his jump shots. The fans love him, but they are glad to see him get a shot again and prove that he does belong at the arena by the highway. I hope that he produces to the level that he can for his personal sake and the sake of the team. Good luck to all the Cowboys at all the levels. Howie Along with the return of this storied Space Cowboy will be several special activities taking place at teh "big arena by the highway." First off, Mr. Brinkman will personally choose and distribute the prize to the winner of the Win Kevin Brinkman's Orange Lanyard Essay Contest(need not be present to win). There are less than two (2) hours from now until the deadline. So enter now if you want to win the coveted lanyard of #20 (13). But that is not the only great giveaway. This week we will be celebrating a Space Cowboys Thanksgiving. An entire Thanksgiving meal will be provided for all in attendance, with just one stipulation. We have made this meal into somewhat of a competition. Each participant will be facing off with one member of the Space Cowboys. You will be given 2.27 minutes to eat all the turkey and gravey and mashed potatoes and corn and roles and dressing and cake and pie, etc, etc, etc. Whoever does the most "damage" to thier meal is the winner. If by some chance you defeat your Space Cowboy you will win the love and respect of everyone. You also will not have to pay the $127.84 "donation" to the Space Cowboys Give Us All Yo Money Fund. So get on out to Sports of All Sorts Tuesday November 20 at 7 P.M. to see our Space Cowboys take on the "thugg e. thuggs" of Affordable Overhead. Doors will open at 6:30 with pregame festivities beginning at 6:32. **** News and Notes **** This weeks contest seems it may be a record breaking attendance for the Fall Season. It seems the entire city of Louisville will be present. THere is the return of Mr. Brinkman and the likelyhood of one Ms. Nikole Lenihan making an appearance. And not only that, but a letter was recieved from one time "#1 Fan" Mr. Ben Young: just thought you might be interested in knowing that i have every intention of bring my skanky ass home for the "basketball contest" on the 20th. Thanks Ben, your "skanky ass" has not been seen in some time....come to the game....More attendance news:Mr. "crazy" Paul Brinkman has been notified of the upcmoping contest, and don't be surprised if he is in attendance. But stil don't count on the other member of the Brinkman family to be there. Michael seems to be the least reliable among them....come to the game...Injury Report: All is well and good....come to the game. That will be all for this edition of the Occasional Orbiter. Dont' forget to come to the game, tomorrow, November 20th at 7 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. Editor-in-Chief Nick "Stud" Lubbers Gobble Gobble
