THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Hello once again fellow Cowboys of the Space variety. Yes, it is time once again for your "occasional" reading. **** 'Boys Get First (1st) Win of New Season **** Tuesday night at Sports of All Sorts in Florence, the Space Cowboys recorded their first (1st) "w" of the new league. This win came in small part to the last minute "call up" of Kevin P. Brinkman. Just moments before the game, Mr. Brinkman showed up after making the drive up from the Louisville affiliate "Earth Cowboys". He didn't get the nod until midway through the first half, but upon entering the game, changed the pace dramatically. After the Cowboys got off to a blistering twenty-one (21) to six (6) start, Mr. Brinkman was inserted into the game. From that point on the 'boys opponent, the JTC "thuggy thugs", went on a run to close out what could have been a strong half for the home team. The "thuggy thugs" took a thirty-five (35) to thirty-one (31) lead into the locker rooms. And to top things off, as time expired in that first (1st) half, Kevin was hit with a technical foul after calling a "t.o." that the Space Cowboys did not have. Despite all these miscues from number thirteen (#13) the home team put together a strong second (2nd) half to prevail sixty-eight (68) to fifty-nine (59). After gaining the lead, they didn't look back. It's bound to be one hell of a good basketball game, so why don't you join us!! **** News and Notes **** Immediatly after Tuesday nights game a few off the court moves were made. Keith Lubbers was placed on the 6 day disabled list. So he is eleigable to return this coming Tuesday, although that seems highly unlikely. The first report had his injury listed as a sprained knee. Nothing serious.....Also, Kevin Brinkman was optioned to minor league affiliate Louisville "Earth Cowboys".
