THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Hi and hello, after a long hiatus, it's once again time for your occasional reminder. The Space Cowboys will be taking the court this coming Tuesday, July 24, at 9 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. In what is bound to be a "titanic struggle" the 'boys will take on the Sports of All Sorts "thugg e. thuggs". No information is available on the "thuggs" but we're sure they are a very "solid" basketball team. The home team will be searching for rare "back to back" wins after defeating the "whiney thuggs" last week. They will defintly be looking for a better shooting performance from "good" guard Ted Arlinghaus. Also, don't be surprised to see "big man" Ben Keene battling in the paint, as he is expected to make his triumphant return to the lineup this week after being MIA in the victory. Don't miss out this week when special guest Luis Quinones will be holding an autograoh session before the game. Mr. Quinones will arrive at the "arena" at approxamately 8:27, and begin sigining autographs immediatly. The only stipulation is that your name must not be Jonathon Rasp. Luis has already agreed to these terms and claims te only thing he wil sign for Mr. Rasp is a restraining order. he also asked us to pass on this message: "Stay away from me you stalking son of a bitch. I had one hit in the 1990 World Series "wire to wire" run, that is no reason for you to keep watching me from afar." So don't miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the one and only Luis Quinones. That's this Tuesday at 9 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. Doors will open at 8:23 with pregame festivites beginning approxamately 8:49. **** News and Notes **** Don't expect to see longtime fane and "emergency replacement" Keith Lubbers at Tuesday nights game. Some might call for his loyalty to be questioned, but we wil have none of that. Mr. Lubbers will be headed to Cleveland to welcome home his girlfriend of three years from her year long volunteer work in England. This is one time when even us here at the Occasional Orbiter have to agree Keith is making the correct decision in skipping this weeks game....Still speaking of loyalty: The big question this week is whether Ben Young will make his first appeparance of the "young" season. **** Space Cowboys Softball Update **** The Space Cowboys Softball Team failed once again in their seventh (7th) chance to notch the first victory in franchise history. The 'boys went down fourteen (14) to one (1), keeping the number of game to have gone the full seven (7) innings at two (2). The home team will have twice as many opportunities to get taht first win next week when they play a double header. They will be making up one of their "rain outs" at Meinken field, this Friday, July 27th at 6:15 and 7:15. So don't miss out on what could be a historic day at the big ball park in the hood. That will do it for this occasional reminder. Don't forget to check out the 'boys on the web at www.geocities.com/spaceranch2001. And as always comments, suggestions and new subscribors are welcome at occasionalorbtier@hotmail.com. Editor-in-Chief Nick "Stud" Lubbers Haagiitt
