THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Hi, hello and weocome once again. It'sn ow time for you exciting, exhilarating occasional reading. **** Summer to Set to Start **** The Space Cowboys Summer League has been given the goahead and officially will start this coming Tuesday at 6 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. This, coming after our own 'boy, Nick Lubbers, broke the rim at a shootaround last Thursday. After getting everything worked out, the authorities gave the call earlier this week to proceed as scheduled. We will be expecting a large crowd in this highly anticipated return of the Space Cowboys to the court, but to fuel the enthusiam, a special giveaway. After the success of all the promotions in the Spring League, Cowboy management has decided to try something new. This coming Tuesday, prior to gametime, the first fan in attendance, who doesn't already possess one, will recieve a free orange lanyard. yes, you heard that right!! A free lanyard, just like ones the Space Cowboys have. Not only do they have whistels, but they can be used for many things and are definitly the coolest things ever. So get out to Sports of All Sorts early for the first game of the new league when the Space Cowboys take on the Thuggy Thugs at 6 P.M. Doors will open at 5:25 with pregame festivites beginning at approxamatly 5:37. **** News and Notes **** The early buzz coming into the new league for the Space Cowboys surprisingly is Michael Brinkman. Although the first game has yet to be played, the loyalty of Mr. Brinkman has been quesitoned solely by rumors he may miss said first game....Also rumored: Hagit Limore will be doing a special report on the Space Cowboys, details of what she will be covers have not been made available, but look for her to show up the first game this week....The closest thing to an injury to report: Jeremy Jeffries and Mike Ash are very hungry. **** Space Cowboys Softball Update **** Once again this column is a waste of "space". The Cowboys failed in their sventh (7th) attempt to notch their first win, in this their first year of existence. And they did it in grand style, getting "ten (10) run ruled) through five innings at a seventeen (17) to two (2) clip. Better luck next week fellas. Speaking of next week, if anyone is interested the 'boys will be taking the filed at either 6:15 or 7:15 at the new sports complex at FOPA in Latonia. Come on down to see some great fundamental softball. The first five (5) fans in attendance will recieve one (1) high five from each of the Space Cowboys Softball players. Something you just can't put a price on. That will do it for this edition of the Occasional Orbiter.
