THE OCCASIONAL ORBITER Hello fellow Cowboys of the Space variety and welcome to this occasional reminder. Our Space Cowboys will next be in action this coming Tuesday, June 12th, at 9 P.M. at Sports of All Sorts in Florence. They will be finishing out their current league by trying to reach a respectable four (4) and six (6) mark. They will be vying for this record against the JTC "thugg e. thuggs". In their one meeting earlier in the season, the 'boys came out victorious sixty-seven (67) to fifty-nine (59). But as usual great basketball isn't the only reason to make the trip to "SOAS". This Tuesday, being the last game of the season, will be Fan Appreciation Night. Not only will everyone be admitted free of charge, you will also be permitted on the court, prior to the start of the game to have your picture taken with your famous Space Cowboy. This is a once is a lifetime opportunity! Be sure to bring your own cameras though as none will be provided. Pictures will be "clothing optional". Doors will open early at 8:35, and the team will be available for photos until 8:39. So get there early! It would be a great "going out celebration" to break the attendance record of thirteen (13), set lasat week. Normal pregame festivities begin approxamtly 8:49. **** News and Notes **** Kevin Brinkman (bruised finger), and Dan Resing (how could you forget) both appear to have fully recovered from their injuries and will be ready to go come game time....Keith Lubbers will once again be "on call" and ready to go if needed....We would like to predict a "coming out" game for the team, breaking the season high sixty-eight (68) points and scoring sevent (70). **** Space Cowboys Softball Update **** The 'boys didn't accomplish their goal of avenging the sixteen (16) to nothing (0) shalacking they took last week. As a matter of fact, they were beat just as bad. The Space Cowboys lost their third (3rd) straight game seventeen (17) to five (5). I don't know if the season is going to be long enough to avenge all these whoopings. They will next be in action this coming Friday, June 15th, at 7:15 at the new sports complex at FOPA in Latonia. Come out and see, it's very exhilarating! Still, the job for "softball correspondent" has yet to be filled. Again, if anyone is interested email us your application here at OccasionalOrbiter@hotmail.com. That will be all for this week's reminder. We hope to see you Tuesday night to cheer the hometeam to victory. A few parting words I once heard fomr a ver "wise" man, "You are special.....and Jesus loves you!" Words to live by.
