Hi Everyone,
To refresh everyone's memory, NCCP certification
is no longer a requirement of Basketball Alberta for a coach to take a team to
Youth Provincials. It has been replaced with CCCP (Community Coach
Certification Program).
Coaches with NCCP certification are exempt from
taking a CCCP clinic for the 2006/2007 season only. There's nothing to stop
an NCCP certified coach from taking a CCCP clinic however. In some cases it
might actually be very beneficial.
All other registered CMBA coaches and assistant
coaches must take a CCCP clinic. Clinics are age specific.
Coaches in 'A' and 'B1' divisions, who do not have
NCCP certification, MUST take a CCCP clinic.
The following is a list of dates and locations of
the CCCP clinics for this season:
Tykes coaches-North: Wednesday October 18th,
6:30pm to 10:00pm, Crossing Park Elementary School.
Tykes coaches-South: Friday October 20th, 6:30pm
to 10:00pm, Acadia Elementary school.
Mini coaches-North: TBA
Mini coaches-South: Friday October 27th, 6:30pm to
10:00pm, Lord Shaughnessy High School.
Bantam coaches-North: Saturday October 21st,
6:30pm to 10:00pm, Cardel Place.
Bantam coaches-South: Monday October 23rd, 6:30pm
to 10:00pm, Woodbine Elementary School.
Midget coaches-North: Wednesday October 25th,
6:30pm to 10:00pm, Crossing Park Elementary School.
Midget coaches-South: Saturday October 28th,
6:30pm to 10:00pm, South Fish Creek Rec Center.
Juv/Jnr coaches-North: Tuesday October 31st,
6:30pm to 10:00pm, Simon Fraser Junior High School.
Juv/Jnr coaches-South: Monday October 30th, 6:30pm
to 10:00pm, Woodbine Elementary School.
Coaches have the option of attending either a
north or a south location depending on their personal schedules.
Cost is $55.00 (CMBA will reimburse 50% with
receipt)
