| Mark Hale was born in Illinois in 1949 and went with his family to Atlanta, Georgia at age eight. He was educated in public schools in the Atlanta area and at Georgia State University. He has written six books on the history of the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia, including The Hero of Greenland Gap which appeared in 1984 and was revised in 1999. Currently involved in researching "Rappahannock Colonials," Mark Hale is unmarried and resides in Norfolk, Virginia. |
