Site Information

PURPOSE
The purpose of this site is to provide technical resources for the local church in the areas of: Sound, Lighting, Video and Multimedia. We are looking to provide content which is relevant, wide-ranging and in-depth. HyperLinks and pointers to external sites are used where appropriate to access relevant material. This avoids us exhausting our space allocation, and re-inventing the wheel by duplicating content which is well covered on other sites.

Our aim is to serve the local church and build up the Sound Ministry Team with useful advice, peer group interaction and technical resources. SOUND DOCTRINE is constantly evolving, so return here often to see what's new.

SITE INFORMATION
SOUND DOCTRINE is divided into four categories - Sound, Lighting, Multimedia and a Miscellaneous hands-on section devoted to Troubleshooting and 'Do-It-Yourself' projects. We have endeavoured to keep file sizes to a minimum so that pages load as quickly as possible, yet retain visual appeal.

Background music on the home and menu page is a contemporary rendition of the 17th century hymn Praise to the Lord by Joachim Neander. Lyrics and a bio of the author can be found at The Cyber-Hymnal.

This website was initially coded using MS FrontPage and Adobe PageMill. While it was easy to produce pages, I found it more interesting to write my own HTML & JAVA code from scratch. If you're interested in setting up your own webpages and want to learn the basics of HTML, download a zipped copy of the freeware program Web Tutor here. (Highly recommended)   See the links page for additional HTML resources.
