The SOUL Alumni Incorporated (SOUL AI) conducted its first general assembly last May 18, 2002 at the Manila Midtown Hotel. Though attended only by about 50 percent of the entire alumni members, the assembly was considered a success since a percentage of them are working abroad.

The nine (9) members of the board of directors (BOD) were formally introduced and took their oaths. Elected SOUL AI President and Chairman of Grievance Committee is Brod Ferdinand I. Manalo, 87A; Executive Secretary and Chairman of IT Committee is Brod Louie R. Lagman, 91B; Treasurer and Chairman of Finance Committee is Brod Dante M. Trinidad, 89B; Auditor and Chairman of Welfare Committee is Brod Mario U. Gaudiano, 89C.

One of the highlights of the event was the video clip presentation showing how PLM-SOUL evolved as an organization; and how the SOUL AI itself was conceived and established as an alumni association. As the present PLM-SOUL Grand Quantum Raudini Leaño narrates in the video clips, the alumni members turned nostalgic as pictures of them as PLM-SOUL members flashed on the screen. Loud cheers covered the venue when the very old picture of the pioneer batch of the organization was shown.

Included in the event was the presentation of the SOUL AI logo which was designed by Brod Benedict “D Dict”J. Buenaobra, 90-C. Brod Mario “Bok” U. Gaudiano, presented the projects under his committee which includes the scholarship program for the resident members and other PLM students as well. Pledges were asked from the attendees to finance the projects of SOUL AI.

The event was hosted by Brod Benedict J. Buenaobra and Sis Rowena Santos-Manalo and was directed by Sis Floriam Roxas.
