TO ROGER POULTRY

            I have no quarrel with you sir

            always impressed by the synthesizer

            on Baba O’Riley

            and only marginally annoyed

            with that Live At Leeds

            sound quality

            I recently met some Irishmen

            who although in their twenties

            still not over that adolescent phase

            all of us quite drunk

            at a Grey Cup party

            when a commercial of you

            flashed on the tube

            well that was all was needed

            to get the Irishmen going

            as I now realize failed to query them

            if they were north or south

            but judging by the jeering

            could easily have been with the I.R.A.        

            I didn’t ask them about The Who

            saw no point in pushing

            the over opinionated issue

            although must admit I did find

            a touch of silly humor

            in their nickname for you
