GREEN PLAN
Now class, it’s time to buckle down to our department store
text books,
the neon scientists that we are; and let us consider for a moment,
environmental politics guaranteeing industry continue poisoning the
planet
for another hundred
years; albeit at a reduced rate. What's it matter?
Plush furniture and stereo equipment are an end to
justify the means.
And in the
process, so what if we kill off all the wildlife?
There’ll still be
the zoos! Those marvels of human nature.
Meanwhile, we can
point Hubble’s eye at the pristine sky
to locate our
latest nuclear reactor; the bankers already guaranteeing a profit.
Leave the lower classes to guard the planet against any
hostile alien takeover.
They can stare up at us with their binoculars for
entertainment.
We do after all have to keep Earth … if only for sentimental
reasons.
