FAMILY PHYSICS
for Jason Forged of the same
material, we race through time and space. You, faster and faster
around me, anxious to break free, your pull growing
stronger with each orbit, yet still too young to fully comprehend the
forces in and around you; atmosphere steadily
forming, molten metal cooling, mountains
and valleys more prominent with each passing day. How well you’ve
learned to survive the occasional comet and asteroid; mere
shadows of what’s to come. © 1998 Chris Sorrenti
