|
| 12/6/553 |
A knight dies during the games. The poison is traced to an ex-girlfriend disguised as a food seller. Rumours start about possible conflicts starting between Avanil and Boeruine. Stories also tell of Avan and Rhuobh Manslayer battling, but this has not been verified. However, there is bad blood between the two as Avan's daughter tried to make a deal with Rhoubhe against her father, and Rhoubhe betrayed her. She was sent to Boeruine in punishment.
|
| 20/7/553 |
The party decides to follow a treasure map found in d'Lor's belongings, hoping to find the Book of Laws at the marked tower.
|
| 23/7/553 |
On route, the party stops at a ruined tower that was once the lab of a powerful mage and where an elven banshee haunts. Wencke turns up from his master's boat and helps defeat the banshee, right after the party battled a difficult demon. Raithenn picks up a cursed music box. The party leaves before the lab explodes.
The party had found two potions of longevity in the lab. After heated arguments between Brokk and Wencke, the party sold the potions to Wencke for his master, Damon Monjere.
|
| 24/7/553 |
Arrive at what was thought to be the tower on the map. Battle with wyverns that had recently defeated an elven border post with griffon mounts. Suspicions that the map in fact may contain holes that are reference points for another map, and that this tower was not connected in any way. Raithenn later matches the pricks to points on a map of Mur-Kilad.
Meet with the local rangers. One, Arwen, stays with the party.
|
| 29/7/553 |
Carlie: Party arrives via Monjere's boat in order to get a boat back to the city of Anuire and investigate the dispute between Avan and Boeruine. Monjere tells that the queen is dying of early onset of old age, hence the need for the longevity potion. However, she is practically quarantined by her two elven dukes and surrounded by guards. Wencke dimension doors Brokk and Raithen in to her sleeping chamber. Brokk as an owl distracts the guards whilst an invisible Raithenn gives her a dose of potion. All escape and return to the boat to leave immediately so that the Dukes hopefully will be unable to work out who went against their plans. Arwen stays with the party.
|
| 6/8/553 |
Anuire: Knights are gathering in the city. Reports that Boeruine forces have somehow entered Avanil provinces via the mountains or Rhoube's lands and their invasion has been very quick so far and have captured Vanilen and Taliern. The assasination of a major figure is rumoured to be planned.
The chancellor reveals that the Sword of Roele was stolen from within its magically protected safe. Idris finds that the room has prtection against magic but not blood abilities. The theft was 3 months ago and rumours say that dwarves in Mur-Kilad have been commissioned to make a special sword.
|
| 7/8/553 |
Raithenn leads the party to the building of the assasin. Brokk and Grofa rescue the wild animals that had been released from their cages. The rest join the Vos awnsheghlien killer, Teodor Profiev, in a fight with the assasin and gnolls. Idris finds a pigeon loft and one pigeon carries a message signed by the second son of Aeric Boeruine asking for Aeric's death. The message was enspelled with a geas-like spell that Idris shook off. The pigeon tells Brokk that it came from somewhere about Daulton.
Teodor states that he was in Boeruine four weeks before the armies left. At that time, nothing was getting ready for war. Aeric's sons were bickering but Aeric was taking no interest in them.
|
| 8/8/553 |
Daulton: Brokk intercepts a pigeon carrying a message to Avanil forces
undercover in Taeghas, telling them to form up at the border of Boeruine.
Nothing important was found at the assassin's house but it was determined
that the assassination message was a forgery. The party decided to go to
Baruk-Azhik looking for the dwarves who are rumoured to be repairing the
Sword of Roele.
|
| 27/8/553 |
Baruk-Azhik: Dwarven Baron Rodrigo agrees to help in exchange for the
recovery of three relics. The Shard of Noon and the Shard of Midnight were
swords and are placed in a silver base with the Baron's Shard of Dawn. The
two shards and base are believed to be in an ancient subterranean city
called Dwelling.
|
| 32/8/553 |
Dwelling: Brokk temporarily teleports to the City of Anuire for Grofa's
druidic inauguration and finds out that Rhoubhe Manslayer seems to have
died or vanished. Just inside the entrance tunnels, an ambush is sprung by
dwarves and spiders. One of their gnome prisoners leads the party to what
reconstructed part of the city. The gnomes indicate that orogs have one of
the Shards and fishmen have the other. After clearing the mines of gas pod
plants and more spider bandits, the party is told by the gnomes that
myconoids have the silver hemispherical base to the relic.
|
| 1/9/553 |
Dwelling: The Myconoids will hand over the base in return for a sample of
a poison used against them by the "tentacled" ones. Whilst the others
battle trolls, Raithenn enters a room containing 2 tentacled creatures who
teleport out, releasing their control on the trolls. The poison powder is
found and the hemisphere is surrendered.
|
| 13/9/553 |
Orog settlement: The party battles its way into the settlement, Wencke
severely injuring his right foot. The party sneak up on a temple of
Alenecht (Belinik) and battle their way in through Orog priests and umber
hulks. The shard is hidden in the midst of darkness with three priestesses,
one of whom releases a Xorn. Wencke gets the sword and all escape the
temple, eventually leaving the settlement.
|
| 14/9/553 |
Underground lake: A group of fishy kuatoa approach. Being no friends of
the orogs, the kuatoa are to swap the shard for information and maps about
the orogs. They also give directions on how to return to the gnomes without
going through the orog settlement.
|
| 28/9/553 |
Baruk-Azhik: Raithenn secretly joins the parts of the relic, bar the
baron's sword. Suddenly, Wencke's foot regenerates. The baron adds his own sword to the relic.
|
| 1/11/553 |
Baruk-Azhik: Brokk returns from the City of Anuire with the news that the
Boeruine/Avanil war is over. Avan was arrested and executed for starting
the war and ordering the murder of Boeruine and Boeruine's eldest son.
Avan's daughter is no longer missing and has become the new regent of
Avanil. She was previously under the protection of the second Boeruine son,
a cleric, who is the new regent of Boeruine. The two realms seem to be on
much better terms than in the past. Raithenn adds that the Gorgon seems to
be withdrawing his armies from the borders.
|
| 2/11/553 |
Underground: At Stone's End, Mur-kilad, the dwarves supply paperwork and a
new guide. The party disguises itself as slave traders and weapons traders
and decides to chance using the main travel route. Many troops are pass by
in the corridors, but they don't seem to be preparing for war. The
paperwork gets the party through one checkpoint but Raithenn notices that
one of the gnolls there left. The only other combat was an ambush by
dwarven bandits.
|
| 16/11/553 |
Capital city of Fallen Rock: Most of the population are soldiers and the
troops still seem to be moving back from the borders. The guide discovers
that the dwarven family that the party is searching for has been taken to
the Sere's Hold in the Gorgon's Crown and have been restricted to working
only on armour, not weapons.
|
| 22/11/553 |
The Gorgon's Forge: The dwarven family is found but a particular gnoll
watches the party carefully. He reminds Raithenn of the one from the
checkpoint. Tanzig, the family leader, identifies a lady as being in
possession of the repaired sword. The dwarves are sneaked to a heavily
guarded door. The door is opened, revealing a magical laboratory containing
models of cities and maps, each in separate sections of the room. Fire
traps are laid, experimental notes are hastily grabbed and Wencke leads the
way on a wild ride to Calrie.
|
| 23/11/553 |
Calrie: The sword woman is identified as the same woman who was at the
Queen's bed. However, the dwarves were originally given paperwork to repair
the sword for the Gorgon. The lady just convinced them to hand it to her
when they had finished. Raithenn speaks to the dead alchemist whose body
was carried from the lab. He admitted that the research was for a Shadow
Walk realm spell that could transport soldiers from any source to another
province, so the soldiers do not need to gathered together. The research
was very well advanced so the destruction of the lab wouldn't stop the
Gorgon. It would be cast by "someone very close to the Gorgon".
Aerenweans tell of dark dreams of ruins, dark willow trees and a spire
rising from a plateau. An orog in custody throws a hidden bag containing a
crystal to Idris then dies of a multitude of wounds that suddenly reopen.
Idris has a vision of the items being taken from and being placed in an
indent. An old elf tells of a pre-elf fire mage banished 35000 years ago
and the location of the ruins of his keep. The party captures cattle
rustlers.
|
| 24/11/553 |
The Erebannien: The willow acts as a Shadow World gate. Most of the party
battles against goblins approaching a magical and physical wall that
surrounds the spire. Idris rids himself of metal and labours over to and up
the spire, followed by Brokk as an ape. Idris reaches the top and is
challenged by a demon in his own form. He destroys the large stone on an
altar, banishing the demon, and replaces it with the crystal. The goblins
vanish and a man, Malroth, appears. A lava moat is made around the wall.
|
| 25/11/553 |
Shadow World: Wencke leads the party to the exit point for Calrie. The
Sidhe is informed of the Gorgon's plans to move armies through the Shadow
World and they agree to inform Brokk if they learn anything of his
activities here.
|
| 27/11/553 |
Calrie: The awnsheghlien hunters, Andre, Turel and Carmel are introduced.
Carmel can detect the position of awnsheghlien and leads to a shadow
creature that has trouble seeing Brokk. When killed the creature makes a
shadow gate which is destroyed by Andre's explosive crossbow bolts. Most of
the party later returns and destroys more shadow gates.
|
| 29/11/553 |
Calrie: Two days ago, an elf who knew the fire mage was found dead in
Monjere's kitchen after enormous heat erupted from the oven. The murderer
was not identified but Malroth was the chief suspect.
|
| 30/11/553 |
Swamp near Calrie: Idris, Wencke and Brokk and 12 of Monjere's guards
battle a bandit army who had been attacking Monjere's caravans. The guards
and Brokk's magic hold back the general infantry whilst Wencke and Idris
attack the leaders.
|
| 2/12/553 |
Calrie: Raithen and Idris return from Roesone with news. The Gorgon has
started to invade northern Anuire by teleporting forces to strategic
locations. The paladin Teodor has challenged the Gorgon to a duel. The
Gorgon wants the party to be present at the event and deliver Teodor a
teleport stone which will take transport everyone to Marloer's Gap, which
the Gorgon claims will be in his hands by the time of the challenge. The
Gorgon seems to know a lot of each member of the party but not everyone
gives a definite yes or no to the Gorgon's request. The decision of the
party is to find Teodor and question him about the nature of the duel.
