Special Techniques: Can create Homunculi, shadow-based artificial creatures who fight beside him in battle. These creatures take on whatever shape he decides to give them.

Appearance: In his prime, Xelas is between Anthro and Neo-Anthro height and heavily muscled. His body is covered in scars, one of which runs over his left eye, which is blind. The tips of his quills are bleached white.

Currently, his body has been wasted by Shadow Sickness. He has lost much of his muscle and appears sickly and almost wraithlike.

Personality: Cold and ruthless, the only things Xelas cares about is honor and victory. He has no respect for life and believes that one can only be acknowledged through their strength and courage. He adheres to a strict code of gladiatorial honor and is a firm believer in trials by combat.

History: Xelas was born in the harsh Northern Wastes, the younger of two brothers. As their culture revolved around the sport of Pit-Fighting, Xelas and his brother Ixildor were raised and bred to be champions. As they grew older, they became stronger and more fierce in the Pit. Each developed a unique brand of amazingly powerful magic the likes of which had rarely been seen in the Wastes. Ixildor developed the power of illusion while Xelas gained the power to create Homunculi - artificial creatures born of dark energy.

At the height of their careers, a foreigner came to the Wastes and rose quickly in the ranks of the Pit Fighters, fighting his way to challenge Ixildor himself. This foreigner claimed to be a Raider from the island of Tolaria and, after a brutal match, soundly beat and humiliated Ixildor, shaming him before all of the gathered spectators. Enraged, Ixildor broke with tradition and attacked him outside of the arena, resulting in his being banished from the Wastes. With nothing left to him, he journeyed south to Tolaria and fought the Raiders - a battle which ended in his death.

Xelas worked hard after his brother's exile to restore their family honor, secretly harboring a deep hatred for these 'Raiders' the foreigner represented. Unable to take revenge to the disappearance of the combatant, Xelas instead proved his mettle in the Pit.

When news of his brother's death reached him (some time after Ixildor's actual death), Xelas took it upon himself to avenge him. He spent the next few years journeying south and honing his abilities. Along the way he encountered a source of unknown power which increased his magical prowess. He used his new abilities to create Homunculi of past enemies and allies of the Raiders, imbuing them with enough memories to make them appear real but fragmenting them to prevent them from gaining free will.

After his arrival on Tolaria he put into motion an intricate plan to bring the Raiders to their knees. When he finally confronted them, however, they proved stronger than expected. Added to this was his sudden loss of the power he had found. Despite his preparations, Xelas was defeated - and furthermore, he learned that the energy source he had found had turned on him and infected him with Shadow Sickness.

The accelerated illness ate away at his body, leaving him in a wasted state of being. Currently he is being held in a Tolarian Defense Force prison, connected to several life support machines.
