Any other time, they clash because someone's hired him to defend against the Raiders-- just business, nothing personal.

Forms: NA

Honorable in battle: Moderately

Special Techniques: Array, Class Array, Teardrops of Glass Souls, True Aim, Redirect

Appearance: Long, smooth black hair contrasts the short-but-shaggy fur. Can be expected to be seen in a black business suit and shoes with a longcoat and black rectangle-lens shades. Often carries around a nondescript duffel bag, and the only accessories are an earring in the left ear and a bracelet on the right arm-- both silver.

Personality: Pretty cocky, but otherwise very professional.

History: School, Secondary Nekohlian Army, a couple of years in apprenticeship... Rune's life was normal enough for someone who was extremely bored. Deciding finally that he enjoyed fighting but not the military, he went about the steps to become a registered bounty hunter. Unfortunately for him, this did mean going right back to the military.

A visiting independent force came knocking for hires and trainees, part of some mutual trade agreement, but after two days of over-the-top punishment and work, Rune dropped out of the program and resumed his projected path. Eventually, he did gain his job-- one he was rather good at, which was rare for someone working solo, as well as someone young.

When the War of Vector Sect hit, Rune was tapped for special missions for his Rath clan. However, the war ended too soon for him to actually do anything, so he demanded to be put on the list of those hunting the war's instigator and namesake, who'd escaped. It was done to humor him, but when other bounty hunters stopped returning, the list thinned out between MIA hunters and those who decided that the job wasn't worth it.

Some five months later, Rune appeared on Tolaria, hunting the person everyone kept mistaking him for. Once the chance was actually his to capture Vector, the Raiders were there to send Rune on a retreat. More than once did he try to collect his bounty, but Vector's new team constantly resisted and bested him. Having enough of direct attacks, he sought a different approach-- with more political power, he could force Tolarian officials and the Raiders themselves to relinquish hold of Vector Sect. To this end, he joined Hannibal Darkholme's entourage as a bodyguard, though both knew that there was later to be more from the deal. It's here that he met Vera, the viciously cold secretary of the mayoral nominee.

Hannibal's routing forced Rune back underground. Having actually befriended her, he and Vera remained close contact, and eventually considered themselves a pair-- though their relationship was openly violent and tense, they had an underlying understanding and a mutual hatred for the Raiders. The two factions continued to clash in small skirmishes until the Void War, where Rune and Vera, recognizing the greater threat, joined the rest of the Tolarian forces in defending the island. Seen first defending the neighborhood he held preference too, Rune was later with the great clashing armies, launching massive aerial attacks in the masses. After scolded for taking initiative and striking when allies hadn't time to retreat to a safe location and hide from the storm of holy arrows, Rune decided his part was done and left the rest to those who would call themselves heroes.

At some point, Vera revealed that she was an android, which put a strain on their relationship since he was trying to court her. He accepted it after consideration, but musing about adopting a stray kid made Vera wonder, and seek her creator to see what it would take to remove most, if not all, inorganic components-- all behind his back. This period was interrupted by the trouble at Mecha, and that war almost saw both Rune and Vera killed not only by Mother's army, but by Dominus.

Again, both seemed to drop out of the picture, though secret rendez-vous still had Vera changed to an Organic, an event which changed his view on many things and solidified his purpose-- protecting and providing for Vera and the twins that came soon after. Though thankful and less spiteful to the Raiders, he didn't like their apparent lack of organization and enjoyed freedom too much to actually join, deciding to watch their progress and make money as a merc, something that'd put his bounty hunter skills to some use.

Notes: Assuming he's at all mechanical because of the red shine in his right eye during True Aim is an easy way to earn five from the pimp hand.
