Special Techniques: Lucien is a deceptively physical fighter, unafraid to dirty his hands when dealing with his enemies. Despite have a heavily decayed body beneath his robes, he remains strong and agile - abilities no doubt gleaned from his true source of power, his Great Fury.
Lucien is the only Lunari priest to have ever summoned a Great Fury - an elemental spirit with enormous power and the ability to change its elements at will. Normally invisible, this spirit visually manifests as a giant translucent creature, its flesh etched with summoning lines. |

Appearance: Lucien is a tall wolf who dresses in ragged blue robes of Lunari make. He wears a mantle with a high color that obscures his muzzle and is embroidered with summoning symbols and streaks of lightning running down from the collar beneath his eyes. He wears metal three-fingered gauntlets and boots with metal claws at the end. Beneath his clothes, his body is similar to that of the walking dead: incomplete, rotting, and strung together by magic. |

History: Lucien's history goes back thousands of years, originating in the period where the Lunari had established themselves as one of the most far-flung cultures on the planet Mobius. Born into the Lupine tribe, Lucien was destined for greatness. His tribe had been the one to establish the Lunari in their new homeland, the Crescent Island, after all. Magical potential ran in his very blood and as soon as he started Summoning, it began to show. He was a prodigy, mastering typical summoning, spirit fusion, and the maintenance of Furies before he was 18. Rather than devoting himself to one or two elements he instead sought a way to master them all - including the notoriously difficult Chaos and Dark Spirits.
Although Lucien proved quite capable at working with all forms of Lunari elemental spirits, it is believe the near constant exposure to the mental/emotional influences of these spirits inevitably led to his descent into madness. For years he worked with Furies of all the elements and quickly proved himself the most powerful of the Lunari summoners. He was intent on replacing his tribe's spiritual leader, Eldamri, as the next headsman of the Lunari. He was intent on bringing new glory to the Lunari, to usher in a new age of prosperity - no matter what the cost. The first step in his grand plan would be the eradication of the tainted bloodlines - namely, all those not of the lupine tribe.
To that end he applied his studies in new ways, finding new forms of summoning forbidden to the Lunari. In this way he was able to destroy his Furies and use their combine energies to summon a Great Fury. It is said that this is the only way to summon a Great Fury, though the price is steep: as each Fury a summoner possesses is linked to them on a profound spiritual level, to willingly destroy them is to destroy a part of yourself. By the time Lucien gained enough power to summon a Great Fury, he possess a Fury of each elemental type. As there are ten elements in Lunari summoning, the damage he did to himself was considerable and is believed to have further destabilized him.
The power of wielding a Great Fury granted Lucien an immortality linked to the existence of his companion spirit. With the inability to be killed and with great power at his disposal, Lucien cut a swathe through the Lunari people until Eldamri, the elder priest of the Lunari and of Lucien's own clan, stood against him, united with the priests of the most powerful tribes. The battle fought between Lucien and his enemies is said to have broken the land and boiled the sea but in the end Eldamri and his companions stood victorious.
Knowing that it was impossible to kill Lucien as it is impossible to kill his Great Fury, the Lunari instead broke the spirit into ten parts and sealed them away. Each of the Lunari tribes protected one piece of Lucien's shattered power while the remaining pieces were scattered across Mobius. Without his spirit's power sustaining him, Lucien died.
Over time, the Lunari tribes began to falter and crumble and the sealed pieces of Lucien's power were brought together, bit by bit. Once enough pieces had been united, the Great Fury appeared once more and with him came Lucien, a shattered husk of his former self. He has since sought out the remaining pieces of his power and currently possesses seven of the ten. 'Death' has taught him much about the mistakes he had made during his war with the Lunari and so he now moves more slowly. He has kept to the shadows of Mobius, hiding himself until the day he reunites all the shattered pieces of his Great Fury and can once more establish himself as master of all he surveys.
Why he is on Tolaria and what his link is to the enigmatic Jonas is still unknown.

Notes: Lucien is a formidable summoner with a mastery over several elemental arts. He is even capable of turning his enemies' elemental attacks against them. He is also a surprisingly adept fighter, his agility and brute stength making him an effective combatant at any range. With his Great Fury providing awesome attack and defensive power, fighting Lucien can be an extremely daunting task. Engaging him directly while diverting his Fury's attention is perhaps the best tactic to use against him.
