Rulebook |
The following is a list of rules the Raiders subscribe to. If you have reason to believe a rule to be unfair, please report it to one of the commanders and it will be attended to. Failure to comply with these rules will result in expulsion from the guild. |
Admittance Procedures |
1.) Applicants must then have a minimum of one roleplay with a commander or a commander-assigned member to determine their RP behavior.
2.) If an applicant is deemed acceptable by the aforementioned member, then a notice will be sent out to the applicant informing them that they've been accepted.
3.) Up to two Hero characters can be enrolled in the Raiders. This is to ensure that the RPer will always have at least one character available to play. Simply fill out the IC portion of the application twice, one for each character.
4.) It is also possible to enroll a Villain. We currently have enough boss-like villains, but lesser-powered villains the Raiders can frequently run into would be appreciated. |
General Rules |
1.) You must have some RPing experience. Although the Raiders is not an elitist guild, we are not a teaching guild. Some of the plotlines are very complex and require a certain degree of skill.
2.) Evil characters are not only accepted, but encouraged.
3.) Characters can not be killed without their mun’s consent. Also, be aware that by attempting to kill a character, you are also giving permission for your own character to be killed.
4.) No permanent damage to member-controlled lands without their GM’s (Game Master’s) consent.
5.) Anthropomorphic characters only, please. Some humans are accepted, but only under special circumstances.
6.) Please treat all members with respect.
7.) Individuals who are intoxicated by drugs or alcohol are not welcome in any guild plays. Likewise, most individuals with addictions to these substances will not be accepted into the guild, unless the guild commanders decide to allow them. Furthermore, characters who are intoxicated by any substance will not be allowed in play unless they can handle the element maturely and with the GM's consent.
8.) All members are expected to participate in at least one out of three roleplays. If you do not participate in one of three roleplays, then you will be penalized for prolongued inactivity. If you know ahead of time that you will be unavailable for some time (two weeks or more), notify a commander and give them a rough estimate of how long you will be unavailable. If necesary, request a Leave of Absence. A Leave of Absence will excuse a member from play for no longer than two months. |

Storyline Rules |
The following rules do not necessarily apply to the GM of a story or aCall to Action, so long as they are not abusing their power.
1.) There are no god-like character allowed in active plots, be they normal characters or NPCs. A god-like character is one who can fight without tiring, one against whom spells are ineffective, and one that is nearly impossible to kill. This rule applies to all members. God-like characters that do not interfere with storylines are permitted. The only exception to this rule is if the aforementioned character is integral to the story - usually as a villain. In this case, that character must still be able to be defeated, regardless of how powerful they may be.
2.) All characters using energy-based techniques must have the following limitations:
Chatroom Conduct |
1.) Once a role-play begins, OOC comments are to be kept to a strict minimum. Only comments pertaining to post clarification or general questions about the current role-play will be allowed. All other comments should be taken to IM.
2.) The mun should not be blamed for the attitudes or actions of their characters. If one has a problem with a character, take it up with the character. Not the mun.
3.) Just because a character does not know something about another character that is known by others this does not mean that the mun does not know it. Simply play as though this is that character's first experience with the knowledge.
4.) Keep in mind the unspoken agreement between players engaged in battle - that by making a powerful move, you are giving the opponent permission to use a move of equal standing against you. Do not make a god-killer move and simply expect your opponent to roll over and die - in fact, expect them to pull off something just as devastating. There are some exceptions to this rule - namely, know your characters limits and do not try to perform a move that is beyond their capacity. Also, expect villains to be more powerful than the average hero. |

Call to Action Behavior |
1.) Members of a CtA are expected to follow the general behaviors laid down upon them in the Chatroom Conduct section.
2.) All characters are subject to the will of the GM overseeing the CtA. A character is free to do what they please, but any individual explorations or massive damage issues must be subject to GM approval before being enacted. This helps the GM create a more stable roleplay environment.
3.) While attendance at scheduled roleplays is optional, all those who show up do so under the premise that they wish to participate in the roleplay. If they wish to only observe, then the GM must be notified before the play starts. If no notification is given and the player simply does not play, they will be penalized. |

Moding Definitions |
1.) Forcing a hit. In free-form battle rules, it is up to the mun of a character to decide which hits should be taken. You cannot post an automatic hit within an attack.
2.) Recovering quickly from attacks without a logical reason for doing so. Characters can be tough, but unless the one being fought against is plot related, automatic recoveries are prohibited.
3.) Showing no signs of fatigue during a battle. Many characters have high levels of endurance, and that is acceptable. In prolonged battles, however, not slowing down due to weariness is prohibited. Also, energy-based attacks tend to drain the user with each use, no matter what type it is. Those factors add to the strain on a character.
4.) Immortality. God-like non-plot related characters are strictly prohibited. No one can be killed without the appropriate mun’s consult, but a character can be beaten to the point of unconsciousness. Regardless of the situation, all characters are assumed to be mortal and subject to mortal influences.
5.) It is important to note that these definitions refer to Raider characters, but not necessarily to storyline villains. Those playing the part of a major villain has the authority of the GM supporting them and are allowed to do what they must to fulfill their role, within reason. |

Sonic Standoff Rules |
1.) After a question is read, contestants must ‘buzz in’ (Ex: ::Buzzes in:: ).
2.) The first contestant to do so will then be called upon. After this, they may submit their answer. |

Sending In Fan-Fiction |
1.) Under no circumstances are fan-fics to proceed past the R warning label.
2.) If your fan-fic includes characters that are not their own, you must have permission from their owners and credit them at the end.
3.) You must fill out this form to submit a fan-fic:
Banner for fan-fic (If you have one): Name of fan-fic: Author's name: Number of chapters: Plot/Summary: Main Characters: Rating (G, PG, PG-13, R): Explanation for rating: E-mail Address: Is this fan-fic completed: If you are sending the chapters out as you make them, can people join the mailing list:
5.) Please e-mail the above form to Hardrive with the fan-fic as an attachment. |

Punishments |
1.) In chats, the 3 Strike system will be used. Anyone violating a rule will first receive a warning. If the warning goes unheeded, the offender will get another, stronger warning. If this too goes unheeded, the character will be expelled from the current RP. Only the person who opened the chat can warn and expel, and only on a logical basis.
2.) If a character is expelled from three RPs in a month, the character is subject to investigation by the guild commanders. If another expulsion occurs after the investigation, the character is then expelled from the Raiders Renaissance. |
